The manager should not underestimate Muyang. He was a dominant figure even at Ueno University, and because he had killed a ghoul, he had even been invited by the investigators. But his parents firmly refused to let him become some sort of investigator, so he never went.

When the manager heard that Muyang had killed a ghoul, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. Yet when he learned that Muyang was not an investigator, his expression softened again. “Muyang-kun, please tell me how you killed that ghoul.”

“Huh?” Muyang froze for a moment, then silently complained to himself: just what kind of image has this world’s will given me?

Still, on the surface he said, “Actually, it would not really count as killing it. That ghoul seemed quite strong. At first he followed me, and when I went into an alley, he suddenly lunged at me without even using his kagune. Naturally, I ended up running from him all the way to a construction site nearby. I grabbed a shovel, knocked out the ghoul that wanted to eat me, and then called the CCG. The investigators came over afterward.”

Of course, Muyang had made up that story on the spot. After all, he had no information at all about this body, let alone any story about killing a ghoul.

“Then it seems Muyang-kun was very lucky,” the manager said gently. “You were not only unharmed by the ghoul, you also knocked it out.”

At that moment, Rize Kamishiro entered Anteiku. The instant she stepped inside, she fixed her gaze on Muyang, as though she wanted to devour him with her eyes. But the manager walked over, patted her shoulder, and said, “Miss, please do not keep staring at one person like that. It is very rude.”

Then, in an extremely low voice, he added to Rize, “After what happened yesterday, you still dare to hunt like this? Next time, we will not come to save you again.”

“All right.” She first replied to the manager, then walked over to Muyang, reached out to pat his head, and said, “I am sorry, little one. Big sister will give you a candy. Will you forgive me?” As she spoke, she took a candy from her pocket and handed it to Muyang.

Muyang’s face gradually darkened. Then he took out his identification card and said, “I am an adult, not some child as you called me.”

When Rize saw the age on Muyang’s ID, she was slightly startled. After all, the height difference between Muyang and Kaneki was nearly forty centimeters, so it was understandable that she had mistaken him.

“Yoshihisa, Kaneki, I am leaving. Thank you for treating me to coffee,” Muyang said, standing up.

“Muyang, wait for me. I will go with you,” Yoshihisa said, following him out of the coffee shop. Inside Anteiku, only Kaneki, Rize, and a few ghouls remained.

“The opportunity has been given to you. The outcome depends on you now,” Yoshihisa thought to himself. Even so, he still had not expected that this matter would bring such tremendous changes to Kaneki’s fate.

A while later, Kaneki and Rize went to a bookstore together to buy books, and when they returned, the story truly began.

Rize bared her kagune and tried to devour Kaneki. As in the original tale, both Kaneki and Rize were struck by falling steel beams, and after that, the Paradise transmigrators appeared en masse.

Muyang was ready at any moment to take out Justice and Bribery, prepared for battle, and the atmosphere among the Paradise transmigrators also grew tense.
