Chapter Thirty-Eight: Justice and Bribery (Part Two)
Sadako had developed a certain fondness for Mu Yang.
Once Shadow Mu Yang entered the treasury, he immediately donned the mysterious helmet. Although Mu Yang already possessed four points of sanity, Shadow Mu Yang was unwilling to exchange his sanity for anything at this moment; instead, he needed the power of Folding Beauty contained within that helmet.
Then, Shadow Mu Yang took out Justice and charged straight towards the location of Bribe. His actions naturally alarmed the guards, but as they gathered in sufficient numbers, Shadow Mu Yang unleashed a blast upon them.
Bang!
Under the skill "Equality at the Barrel of a Gun," the guards fell simultaneously; one spray took out a whole swath of them.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
He continued to fire at guards rushing from other areas, bodies and blood scattering.
Of course, Shadow Mu Yang did not escape unscathed—he was hit by several bullets. However, his recovery was so swift that it rendered their attacks utterly useless against him.
Among the guards were not only members of the Tai Ling, but also some vampires. Most of these vampires were assigned to the treasury because it was the safest spot and offered stable military merit; the majority were offspring of dignitaries sent here to earn their merits, and they posed little threat, being unskilled in combat.
This was precisely why Shadow Mu Yang could move through the treasury without hindrance.
Three minutes later, Shadow Mu Yang successfully located Bribe and seized it.
System data immediately appeared before him:
"Item: Bribe
Level: Mysterious
Attribute: Within one meter of the gun's muzzle, you can control whom it harms most and whom it harms least.
Recall: Regardless of where the gun is, once identified, Bribe is instantly teleported unconditionally to the host's hand.
Evaluation: Though Bribe tips the scales in your favor, it will inevitably be reclaimed in the future.
Weapon Set Conversion: 2/2
Set Skill:
Duel: Both parties abandon their weapons, engaging in close combat to kill the opponent. If the fight lasts a minute, your side will randomly acquire one of your own items."
Just as Shadow Mu Yang grasped Bribe, a fully armored vampire appeared before him. The giant sword in his hand was clearly a peerless treasure, and the pale blue armor he wore was both stylish and highly defensive—obviously, he was the scion of some noble house.
Shadow Mu Yang glanced at the fully armed vampire, then at the set skill Duel for Justice and Bribe, and his lips curled upward in a wild smile.
The vampire, seeing this reaction, mistakenly believed Shadow Mu Yang was intimidated by his impressive gear and laughed, "If you know fear, then hurry up and put down everything in the treasury!"
Upon hearing this, Shadow Mu Yang activated Duel against the vampire. Only then did the vampire realize both his own equipment and that of Shadow Mu Yang had vanished—something was amiss.
If given another chance, he would never have come to a place like the treasury.
With the announcement that the duel had begun, Shadow Mu Yang lunged at the vampire, delivering a side kick that sent him flying. But because the arena's boundaries were limited, the vampire rebounded after hitting the edge.
Shadow Mu Yang delivered another side kick, once again sending the vampire into the boundary and bouncing back.
Mu Yang seized the vampire by the collar, slamming him onto the ground...
