Chapter Forty-Eight: Reforging

Shadow Bathed in Sunlight once again took out Justice and Equality, as well as a short dagger. With a swift motion of his hand, a small cut appeared on his wrist, and with a wave, he activated the weapon skill of Justice directly on Lone Shadow.

Equality: When this skill is used, both parties are rendered immobile. The skill then causes both sides to receive equal amounts of damage, continuing until one side can no longer endure and dies, at which point the skill ends.

In an instant, within the radiant courtroom, Shadow Bathed in Sunlight and Lone Shadow were both confined within an iron cage. Lone Shadow threw a few punches at the bars, but it was useless; the iron did not yield in the slightest.

Above the cage, the shadow of a great sword began to form. With a pained expression, Lone Shadow said to Shadow Bathed in Sunlight, "Is this really necessary? Let me go, let's deal with Visi together. How about it? Wouldn't it be better to join forces and kill him?"

"You can die first, and I'll kill him afterward. After all, he's just a tank—neither strong nor fast. He won't get far."

Boom!

The great sword above their heads descended simultaneously. This time, Shadow Bathed in Sunlight made no attempt to dodge, allowing the sword to pierce straight through his body.

Lone Shadow, however, could not endure the sword so easily. A layer of pure white shield appeared above his head, blocking the attack.

The second round began. Once more, the great swords appeared above their heads. With each strike endured, the swords would become even more powerful. The second sword fell.

Lone Shadow produced another life-saving item, fending off the sword’s assault.

On the third strike, the sword’s form became clearer, its blade noticeably sharper. As the sword fell, Lone Shadow quickly summoned a higher-tier shield, but was astonished when the sword pierced straight through it.

Though the shield was broken, the sword’s force was largely diminished, allowing Lone Shadow to survive another round.

By the fourth round, the great sword reappeared—this time with no hesitation, plunging down immediately without any time to prepare. Its immense force shattered Lone Shadow’s shield entirely, killing him instantly.

Since Shadow Bathed in Sunlight had been restricted in his movements during the killing of Lone Shadow, it gave the Paradise Travelers a chance to scatter and escape.

But it was futile. Shadow Bathed in Sunlight had the Paradise Positioning Map and slipped into the Mirror Space.

The hunt commenced. When the Paradise Travelers stopped to drink water, he struck with lethal precision, leaving them no chance to react.

Just as Shadow Bathed in Sunlight was about to continue hunting the Paradise Travelers, they all seemed to be collectively teleported away, as if their mission for the Paradise had been completed.

"Congratulations, Host, for completing the mission: World Fissure.
Reward: Heart of Resentment Stone."

"So it's actually material," Shadow Bathed in Sunlight murmured to himself.

"The Paradise Positioning Map is of no further use. I’ll hand it over to the system."
