Chapter 54: Slaughter, Ye Shihan Captured
“Are you alright?” Liuhe stood tall, sword in hand, an overwhelming aura radiating from him. On the opposite side, Muramasa Honda’s brows furrowed. The sense of danger Liuhe exuded was far stronger than even Tai Sui’s. Had he not fought Tai Sui first, Honda would have considered this swordsman merely his equal, but now, he doubted he could withstand even ten moves.
“I’m fine! Save my sister-in-law quickly—the man is a dual-blade expert from Sakura Country. He wants to use her to threaten my brother. Don’t let him succeed.” Tai Sui’s voice was weak; as soon as he finished speaking, he collapsed to the ground in a faint.
Seeing this, Liuhe immediately crouched beside him, pressing several points on Tai Sui’s body to seal his meridians. After a quick examination, he found Tai Sui had simply lost too much blood and exhausted his inner strength—nothing life-threatening. Only then did he relax.
Clutching his sword, Liuhe stood and leveled the tip at Muramasa Honda, his face murderous. “You killed my brother—you deserve to die. You dare lay hands on my sister-in-law—you deserve to die even more!”
No sooner had the words left his mouth than Liuhe’s figure vanished from sight. Muramasa Honda’s pupils contracted in terror; he knew he had no chance against Liuhe now. If he didn’t flee, death was the only outcome.
“Damn it! Are you really going to wait for me to be killed before you show yourselves?” Suddenly, Muramasa Honda yelled in fury into the silence around him.
Though Liuhe sensed things might be amiss, he didn’t hesitate. His sword shot toward Muramasa Honda’s chest.
At that moment, two powerful auras erupted—hidden nearby all along were two ninja. Even when Honda had fought Tai Sui, they had remained concealed.
Suddenly, the two ninjas materialized before Muramasa Honda. One flashed his blade in a graceful arc, knocking Liuhe’s sword aside. The second appeared above Liuhe, his long blade slashing straight for Liuhe’s head.
Liuhe’s gaze sharpened; in a flash, he raised his sword above his head, blocking the deadly strike, and then leapt back, coldly regarding the three opponents.
“So Sakura Country wants war with Yanxia again?” Liuhe said indifferently.
“Take the others and go. Leave this one to us,” one of the newly appeared ninjas said coldly to Muramasa Honda, ignoring Liuhe.
Their purpose was not to fight, but to seize Ye Shihan and take her back to Sakura Country to threaten Xiao Yu.
Honda nodded and in a blink, darted toward Ye Shihan. Seeing this, Liuhe erupted in rage, vanishing from his spot as well.
The two ninjas, who had been watching Liuhe’s every move, immediately intercepted him as soon as he disappeared.
“Out of my way!”
Stopped, Liuhe was furious. He slashed with his sword, sending a terrifying wave of sword energy at the two ninjas. They responded in perfect unison, both raising their blades to neutralize the attack, then pressed in close to engage him. The three clashed in a fierce exchange.
To Liuhe’s surprise, both were top-tier ninja kings. Against their combined assault, he had no chance to rescue Ye Shihan. Meanwhile, Muramasa Honda reached Ye Shihan, scooped her up, and vanished with a few swift movements.
Seeing Ye Shihan taken, Liuhe’s fury intensified. His attacks grew more ferocious, forcing the two ninja kings who had held the advantage to now struggle to defend themselves.
“Die!”
Seizing an opening, Liuhe twisted his wrist, shattering one opponent’s blade with a mighty strike, then delivered a flying kick to his chest, sending him hurtling away.
Just as he did, the other ninja king’s attack landed. A flash of silver, and blood blossomed from Liuhe’s abdomen. The ninja king retreated, helping his companion to his feet.
Liuhe wiped the blood from his wound, licking it from his fingers—a chilling sight to behold.
Gradually, a blood-red hue filled Liuhe’s pupils, until his black irises were entirely consumed by crimson.
With those blood-red eyes and his sinister demeanor, Liuhe appeared like a demon risen from hell, leaving his two opponents trembling with fear.
“You will both die!”
As the word “die” fell from his lips, Liuhe vanished again. The two ninja kings, tense as hunted beasts, tightened their grips on their swords, scanning their surroundings intently.
Yet no matter how long they searched, they could not sense Liuhe’s presence. He had melted away as if he’d never been there at all.
Suddenly, the sound of flesh rending echoed through the air. A black shadow flashed around them at such speed they couldn’t react. In moments, their black ninja uniforms were slashed to tatters, their bodies covered in wounds.
With a final blur, two arms were severed, followed by agonized screams. A fleeting glimpse, a wave of pain, then they looked down to see their sword arms gone.
Writhing on the ground, clutching their wounds, they watched in terror as Liuhe slowly emerged before them. He looked devilishly enchanting, his eyes still glowing with blood-red light. His arms hung loosely, sword scraping along the ground with a chilling hiss as he approached.
Under the weight of their terror, Liuhe raised his sword high and brought it down in a flash. Two heads rolled away, round and lifeless.
To their dying breaths, the two ninja kings never understood how this man had grown so powerful so suddenly. Nor had they expected that what had seemed a simple mission would cost them their lives.
Afterwards, Liuhe threw back his head and howled at the sky. The blood-red faded from his eyes, returning to normal. Exhausted, he dragged himself to Tai Sui’s side, sheathed his sword, pulled out his phone, and sat heavily on the ground to make a call.
“Brother, I’m sorry. Sister-in-law has been taken.”
