Chapter 131: Journey to the Dragon Unit
After leaving the Heavenly Drive Secret Machine, Xiao Yu returned to the place he had long missed, accompanied by the Twelve Heavenly Descendants: the villa in Cloud Top Villa District where he and Ye Shihan had lived.
The villa had been largely destroyed during his previous battle with Wang Bo and his associates. However, this posed no obstacle for the developer behind the project. Under the developer's careful management, the events of that day were completely concealed, and the damaged villa complex had been renovated to look brand new.
Since Ye Shihan and the others had been sent by Xiao Yu to the Martial Arts Alliance in Yanjing, the villa had remained vacant for a long time. As Xiao Yu and his companions pushed open the doors and stepped inside, a sense of desolation greeted them. Gazing at the familiar decor in the living room, Xiao Yu felt a wave of melancholy. If not for him, Ye Shihan would not have been forced into a life of being unable to return to her own home.
Although Ye Shihan and the other members of the Ye family were no longer in Fengcheng, their partnership with the Huayi Group continued, and the new district development project was already halfway complete. Because of Xiao Yu, the Huayi Group had not abandoned the collaboration with the Ye Group due to Ye Shihan's departure. The Ye family had successfully ascended to become the premier family in Fengcheng, and even the other three major families now had to conduct themselves with deference toward the Ye family.
Xiao Yu had originally intended to stay at the villa for one night before heading to Yanjing to see Ye Shihan, but the matter of the Xuanyuan family's divine sacrifice forced him to set that plan aside for the moment. Xuan Yuanqingshan had informed him that the ceremony would take place in a week, and they had agreed to depart for the Xuanyuan estate the following morning.
After his recent trip to the Sakura Country, many questions remained in Xiao Yu's mind. Since the Xuanyuan family was a clan with a thousand-year history, Xiao Yu speculated that they might be able to provide the answers he sought, saving him from having to actively track down Kong Wudao to clarify the reasons behind recent events.
The villa had been empty for days. Under Xiao Yu’s instructions, the Twelve Heavenly Descendants set to work cleaning. By the time night fell, the group sat down to a hearty meal. Afterward, they did not linger together; having kept their nerves on edge throughout their time in the Sakura Country, they were eager to return to their rooms and sleep soundly in the comfort of home.
They slept through the entire night.
The next morning, Xiao Yu, who was still deep in slumber, was awakened by the sounds of sparring and laughter. With bleary eyes, he stepped onto the balcony and looked down into the courtyard, where Qinglong and Liuhe were testing each other with their weapons.
"Full of youthful vigor, indeed," Xiao Yu remarked with a shake of his head. Fully awake now, he freshened up, changed his clothes, and headed down to the main hall.
Just as he sat down, his phone rang with a crisp tone. Seeing an unfamiliar number, Xiao Yu calmly answered, "Who is this?"
"Little friend, did you sleep well last night?"
Xuan Yuanqingshan’s laughter-filled voice emanated from the phone. Xiao Yu recognized him immediately and chuckled, "Better than ever. Senior, are you calling to say it’s time to depart?"
"Indeed. We originally planned to leave in the afternoon, but Huangdao received a call from the Dragon Group midway. We intend to visit their headquarters first before heading back to the Xuanyuan estate. Is that convenient for you?"
"That’s fine. Wait for me a moment, and I shall join you at the Heavenly Drive Secret Machine shortly."
"Haha, no rush, no rush. We are already at the entrance of the Cloud Top Villa. I must say, I didn't expect the rules in this mundane place of the wealthy to be so strict. It is the first time I have ever been denied entry," Xuan Yuanqingshan said with a laugh.
Hearing this, Xiao Yu quickly stood up and headed outside. He gathered the Twelve Heavenly Descendants, and the group made their way to the front gate. Sure enough, a row of black sedans was parked there, with Xuan Yuanqingshan and Xuan Yuanhuangdao seated in the middle vehicle. The other cars were undoubtedly filled with the experts the Xuanyuan family had brought to Fengcheng.
Xiao Yu and his companions did not stand on ceremony; they split into groups and boarded the cars, with Xiao Yu being invited into the same vehicle as Xuan Yuanqingshan. As the doors closed, the grand motorcade pulled away.
"Senior, has something happened with the Dragon Group? Why the sudden recall for this old fellow?" Xiao Yu asked, glancing at Xuan Yuanhuangdao in the passenger seat.
Xuan Yuanhuangdao’s expression darkened, and he turned around. "Listen here, you brat—I saved your life once, the least you could do is show some respect to your elders."
"Hardly worth mentioning, considering you were so stingy with the Jade Dew Pills," Xiao Yu retorted with a curl of his lip.
"Don't you dare push your luck! In our Xuanyuan clan, those pills are priceless treasures. Giving you three was an act of extreme mercy," Xuan Yuanhuangdao fumed, his whiskers twitching. He no longer resembled a supreme master, having been goaded by Xiao Yu into acting like an old urchin.
"Enough, both of you. If you are interested in the Jade Dew Pills, little friend, I will have a few bottles sent to you once we reach the Xuanyuan estate," Xuan Yuanqingshan interjected.
"See? I told you—stinginess is a choice. Look at how generous a true master is," Xiao Yu said triumphantly. Seeing the look on his face, Xuan Yuanhuangdao gnashed his teeth in frustration and turned away, refusing to engage further.
Finding peace and quiet, Xiao Yu closed his eyes and drifted into a nap. He didn't know how much time had passed before the jolting of the car jolted him awake. He rubbed his eyes and looked out the window. They had left the city behind and were deep in the mountains. The sun was setting; they had left in the morning, and the day had passed entirely while he slept in the car.
The vehicles continued into the mountains until they reached a narrow path and came to a halt. As the doors opened, everyone stepped out. Xiao Yu stretched his back and scanned his surroundings. From the moment the cars stopped, he could sense faint breathing nearby—the hidden sentries of the Dragon Group.
Sure enough, as Xuan Yuanhuangdao stepped out, several figures leaped down from the treetops, knelt on one knee, and shouted in unison, "Greetings, Dragon Lord!"
"Rise. Take us inside," Xuan Yuanhuangdao said, his expression turning serious. He led the way into the mountain pass, with Xiao Yu and the others following closely behind. They didn't stop until Xuan Yuanhuangdao paused before a massive boulder.
