Chapter Ninety-Six: A Dog’s Eye Looks Down on People!
“You were the one who said just now that you could ‘eat up’ a house, right? Fine, I’ll see how someone with a monthly salary of just a few thousand can devour an entire house,” Xiao Ye said coldly as he stood to the side.
At these words, the woman paused briefly, then burst into hearty laughter. “Alright, if you really have the ability to buy this entire property, I’ll keep my promise and ‘eat up’ the whole house.”
Their exchange quickly drew the attention of the nearby manager, and the surrounding staff warned the woman not to argue too much with Xiao Ye.
“Sir, if you don’t mind, why don’t I show you around the properties?” the real estate agent, who had been mocked earlier, cautiously suggested to Xiao Ye.
Though she doubted he could afford to pay for the entire property outright, her professionalism compelled her to extend the invitation.
“No need. Just bring me your best villa. I’ll pay in full,” Xiao Ye replied casually with a wave of his hand.
The agent was momentarily stunned, unable to fully grasp his meaning.
“What are you waiting for? Don’t you want the commission?” Xiao Ye tilted his head and smiled at her.
“I understand now!” The woman quickly pulled out some documents for Xiao Ye to review, then prepared a contract.
Until this moment, she still wasn’t certain that Xiao Ye could produce the money. She worried he was merely venting his frustration from the earlier argument, pretending to buy the villa.
But he did not disappoint. Xiao Ye swiped his card and signed the contract.
The best villa in the development was now his.
In just a matter of minutes, this dramatic reversal stunned everyone present.
The woman who had been mocking Xiao Ye moments before was dumbfounded as she saw a massive cash flow suddenly flood the internal account.
Regret began to gnaw at her heart—she shouldn’t have spoken to Xiao Ye in such a tone.
But it was too late.
Xiao Ye’s money had already been transferred, and the villa was his.
She avoided his gaze, eager for him to leave quickly.
She even wished he would lose his memory so she wouldn’t have to bear any consequences.
But alas, it was only wishful thinking.
The manager had noticed the earlier confrontation between Xiao Ye and the woman but was occupied with other clients and couldn’t intervene at the moment.
Only after resolving those clients did he learn that the best villa in the development had just been sold to Xiao Ye.
“Where is that gentleman now? Take me to see him immediately,” the manager urged the nearby agent as he hurried over to Xiao Ye.
He was utterly shocked—never had he imagined someone would pay in full without hesitation, buying the villa outright.
He needed to see who this man was.
“Sir, first of all, thank you for trusting our development,” the manager offered a string of formal platitudes, but Xiao Ye waved his hand to cut him off.
“The reason I’m buying this house is entirely because of this staff member here,” Xiao Ye said, pointing to the agent beside him.
“Of course,” the manager replied. “I heard from my team that you had a bit of a dispute with our agent earlier. I’d like to understand what happened.”
“Nothing much, really. Some people just look down on others, assuming I couldn’t afford it,” Xiao Ye said calmly, occasionally glancing at the female agent, who now hung her head in shame, avoiding his eyes.
Upon hearing this, the manager immediately understood the situation.
“I see, sir. Thank you again for your generosity. Here’s my card—if you need anything, don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll attend to some matters now; please wait a moment,” the manager said, rising with a professional smile before approaching the female agent.
Meanwhile, Xiao Ye continued chatting with the agent beside him.
As for the woman who had mocked him, he saw the manager give her a harsh reprimand. She broke down in tears, removed her ID badge, covered her face, and left the sales center.
“Manager, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you in advance,” Xiao Ye said after settling all matters and handing over the agent.
He called the manager over.
“Tomorrow I’ll bring someone here again, but I’ll need your cooperation to put on a show. Arrange some fake promotions, and we’ll ‘successfully’ secure this villa. Remember—it has to look authentic,” Xiao Ye instructed repeatedly.
The manager understood but was unsure why Xiao Ye wanted to stage this performance.
“Some things are better left unknown,” Xiao Ye smiled, patting the manager on the shoulder, then left the sales center.
That evening, on the villa’s sofa, Qin Xue’er, wearing glasses, flipped through information about two floor plans, asking for Xiao Ye’s opinion.
“I think both houses are good. It’s up to you to choose,” Xiao Ye replied lightly.
After some deliberation, Qin Xue’er finally settled on a layout.
The unit was modest, easy to tidy—truly their first home as a couple, something she valued deeply.
The next morning, Qin Xue’er and Xiao Ye arrived early at the sales center.
As soon as they stepped inside, Qin Xue’er was startled by a burst of celebratory fireworks.
At that moment, the manager approached, applauding and addressing them, “Congratulations! You are our ten-thousandth customer. We have a special offer for you. Would you like to hear about it?”
Qin Xue’er and Xiao Ye exchanged glances and nodded.
“This is the best villa in our development. As our ten-thousandth customer, this is a very special occasion. You can now purchase this villa for just the down payment of another villa,” the manager boasted extravagantly.
Qin Xue’er felt torn—such a great opportunity was not to be missed, yet her pockets were tight.
“My card just has enough to cover this villa’s payment. I think this place is great. Shall we buy it?” Xiao Ye whispered into Qin Xue’er’s ear, his arm around her shoulders.
Before Qin Xue’er could respond, Xiao Ye stood up.
He completed the payment handover with the manager while the agent who had shown him the property produced a new contract and placed it before Qin Xue’er.
Amidst the ongoing congratulations, Qin Xue’er, still somewhat dazed, accepted the keys to their new villa.
