Chapter Twenty-Six: Go Easy
Qin Xue’er knew what Xiao Ye intended to do, and she leaned in to whisper softly in his ear.
“Go easy on him.”
Xiao Ye nodded, watching her leave, then turned back to face Lin Dong with a cold, emotionless gaze.
“I don’t know where you, you brat, crawled out from, but you’d better get down and apologize to me right now!”
“Otherwise, you can forget about leaving here today!”
Lin Dong’s expression was twisted with madness. He didn’t take Xiao Ye seriously at all.
At that moment, Xiao Ye raised his hand again.
This time, he held nothing back.
A smack rang out!
As his palm once again landed on Lin Dong’s face, a figure flew across the room before everyone’s eyes.
Lin Dong’s body crashed to the ground like a spinning top!
The onlookers all gasped, chills running through them.
Their mouths hung open wide enough to fit a whole egg, eyes bulging with shock, as if their eyeballs might fall out.
Who was Lin Dong? He was the company’s deputy manager!
Even Qin Xue’er dared not lay a hand on him, yet this man before them had just struck him!
The muscles in Lin Dong’s neck tore, the sprain severe.
That slap sent stars bursting before his eyes, dizziness overwhelming him, his eardrums aching and beginning to bleed.
Xiao Ye’s strike had nearly robbed him of his hearing entirely!
It wasn’t just him—the expressions on the faces of the surrounding board members were a shifting palette of disbelief and horror.
How could Xiao Ye dare to hit Deputy Manager Lin?
Struggling to his feet, Lin Dong found his balance hopelessly compromised by the injury to his ear canal.
He staggered upright, instinctively trying to flee the meeting room!
But Xiao Ye had no intention of letting him escape.
“Apologize.”
Xiao Ye’s voice was calm, but the grip on Lin Dong’s collar was iron-strong.
Even someone as dense as Lin Dong understood that this was someone he could not afford to cross.
To survive, he had no choice but to yield.
With a rough tug, Xiao Ye dragged him back to his side.
Lin Dong collapsed to his knees with a thud, gritted his teeth, bowed his head, and said,
“I’m sorry, Miss Qin, it was my fault, I acted foolishly! Please forgive me!”
After saying these words, he gave himself two more slaps across the face for good measure.
Watching the man before him debase himself so, Xiao Ye released him and stepped aside, regarding the scene coldly.
After about five minutes, a pool of blood had gathered on the floor in front of Lin Dong.
No one dared say a word, afraid to be swept up in the chaos themselves.
Lin Dong’s face was grotesquely swollen, making him look like a pig’s head.
Just then, Xiao Ye spoke again, his tone indifferent.
“All right, since you’ve apologized, now get out of the company.”
“Not just him—every one of you, get out!”
“What did you say!”
With Xiao Ye’s outburst, the entire meeting room erupted.
These were all company veterans, and now Xiao Ye wanted to fire them all without a word?
“What gives you the right? You think you’re the company president?”
“I’ll have you know, even if Xiao Donglin himself came, he wouldn’t dare fire me just like that!”
These were all pivotal figures in the company’s development, each privy to countless company secrets.
To put it plainly, if they wanted the company to collapse, it wouldn’t be impossible!
But faced with their protests, Xiao Ye remained utterly unfazed.
“From now on, everything here is under my command!”
His face was expressionless as he squared off with the assembled crowd.
At that moment, hurried footsteps could be heard outside the door.
“Manager Qin! Is Manager Qin here?”
A figure burst into the room, calling out anxiously the moment he entered.
His arrival instantly drew everyone’s attention.
“Mr. Lu Sanjin, why are you here?”
At the sight of Lu Sanjin, the crowd’s faces changed to shock.
Why would Lu Sanjin appear here?
“I’m here to hand over some collaborative projects to Manager Qin. Which of you is Manager Qin…”
He held several contracts in his hands, all hard-earned projects from his family’s business.
His words trailed off as he caught sight of Lin Dong kneeling on the ground in utter humiliation.
Before he could react, his gaze followed upward.
The next instant, he saw Xiao Ye standing before him.
Lu Sanjin’s face instantly went pale, his legs buckling as he dropped to his knees.
“Lord Xiao, I’m sorry for my tardiness—please forgive me!”
The scene stunned the board members into open-mouthed astonishment.
“Mr. Lu, what are you doing?”
“That man’s just some no-name bastard—why are you kneeling to him?”
Seeing Lu Sanjin like this, several people hurried forward to help him up, but he brushed them aside.
They still had no idea just how formidable Xiao Ye was!
“You’ve come at a good time. Did you bring what I asked for today?”
Xiao Ye gave a faint smile, addressing Lu Sanjin.
At the words, Lu Sanjin scrambled to his feet.
“Lord Xiao, I…”
Before he could finish, a few board members pulled him aside.
“Master Lu, don’t talk to that man—who knows what diseases a country bumpkin like him might carry!”
“He just hit our Manager Lin; he’s very dangerous, best stay away!”
At these words, Lu Sanjin’s body began to tremble uncontrollably.
“What the hell are you idiots saying!”
With that, he ordered his bodyguards to drag those people away.
“Lord Xiao, this has nothing to do with me—it’s just these fools, courting death!”
Lu Sanjin knelt respectfully before Xiao Ye, making every effort to distance himself from the others.
Xiao Ye was not just the Xiao family’s eldest young master, but the only foreign-titled prince in the entire Dragon Kingdom!
“Who is this country bumpkin, really?”
Seeing Lu Sanjin’s strange behavior, someone in the crowd finally asked.
“Idiots! He’s the Xiao family’s eldest young master—the only foreign-titled prince of the Dragon Kingdom!”
At Lu Sanjin’s words, every face in the meeting room changed dramatically.
The Xiao family’s eldest?
A foreign-titled prince?
Xiao Ye is the foreign-titled prince?
The foreign-titled prince, here in River Sea City?
One question after another shattered their worldview.
Given Lu Sanjin’s status, he couldn’t possibly be lying!
Before the board could recover, Lu Sanjin spoke again.
“Lord Xiao, these fools clearly don’t respect you. Let me deal with them—I’ll see to it they’re finished!”
Now was the perfect moment to show his loyalty!
Lu Sanjin’s mind was racing; if the Lu family could gain Xiao Ye’s favor, they might soar to new heights!
At Lu Sanjin’s words, the surrounding people instantly dropped to their knees.
“Master Lu, please, spare us!”
They pressed their faces to the floor, clutching at Lu Sanjin’s trouser legs, begging for mercy.
They knew only too well the power of his background—mere board members like themselves were no match for such a family!
