Thinking of what was about to happen, Ye Gang felt a surge of joy in his heart, and a trace of excitement appeared on his face. From the moment she was singled out, Qin Xue’er’s face had turned deathly pale. The man was domineering and unreasonable, not giving her the slightest chance to explain herself.

“I’m not going,” Qin Xue’er shook her head and refused outright.

Ye Gang didn’t get angry. Instead, his tone suddenly shifted as he spoke. “Well, you don’t have to come. Someone, give everyone in this room a beating—one by one!”

Ye Gang raised his hand slightly and addressed the men behind him.

As if he’d just heard a joke, Ye Gang burst out laughing. Then, in an instant, his face turned cold and he roared, “Law? In here, I am the law!”

“You! Go over there and drag her here for me!” Ye Gang sneered, instructing his bodyguards.

“What are you all standing around for? There are two or three of us guys, can’t we take on a few bodyguards? Xiaoxue is our classmate!” Shu Ran, flustered, looked at the few male classmates standing nearby.

They hesitated—those bodyguards were huge, and the man who’d just been hit was still lying on the ground, unconscious.

“Don’t touch her!” Yang Dong gritted his teeth and glared at Ye Gang. “Who are you to act like this?”

“Class monitor, that’s Ye Gang, the general manager of the Ye Group. We can’t do anything about him!” Du Yu tugged at Yang Dong’s sleeve and spoke bluntly.

Those who had just braced themselves to help were stunned by Du Yu’s words.

The Ye family from Jiangnan?

How could guys like them hope to take on someone like that?

Panic spread across everyone’s faces. Even Yang Dong forced down his impulse to take a stand. In the face of power, they had no choice but to bow their heads.

Qin Xue’er bit her lip in fear, her voice conflicted. “I can’t drink.”

He’d set his sights on her the moment he entered. Asking her to drink was never the real intention.

Shu Ran shielded Qin Xue’er behind her, giving her a little reassurance—at least an old friend was still there to protect her.

“How touching, I’m almost in tears,” Ye Gang mocked, handing his bottle to a bodyguard and pretending to wipe away a tear.

But as he spoke, he started walking slowly toward the two women.

“What do you want? I’m warning you, don’t try anything!” Shu Ran, tense, pulled Qin Xue’er back a few steps.

Qin Xue’er’s face also changed. With Xiao Ye not by her side, fear gripped her heart.

Ye Gang’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he lunged directly at Qin Xue’er.

Just then, there was another commotion at the door. The chaotic scene fell silent at once.

Xiao Ye strode in with a cold expression, giving no one time to react. He stepped forward and kicked Ye Gang aside.

The nearby bodyguards hurried to help Ye Gang up from the floor.

Ye Gang sobered up from the fall, his face darkening as he recognized the man before him—the very one who had injured his bodyguards the day before!

Xiao Ye had been waiting in the lobby for Qin Xue’er’s gathering to finish, his eyes never leaving her. He’d only stepped away briefly to use the restroom, just missing Ye Gang’s arrival.
