Chapter Eighty-One: Wang Monde
On the side of the Xiao Family Company, although the major families had already transferred all their assets to the Jianghai Business Alliance, properties such as land and real estate had yet to be handed over before Jiang Zhongtao fled to the southern district to seek refuge. Xiao Ye seized this opportunity to gather all these holdings under the name of the Xiao Family Company. Under his direction, the company was expanding in an extraordinarily aggressive manner. Calculating by scale, the funds available to the company now far surpassed any of the previous four families. Although Xiao Ye had only just returned, the Xiao Family Company's position in Jianghai City was quickly becoming unshakable.
At the hospital, Chiron’s injuries were not particularly severe, but Xiao Ye insisted he remain there. Xiao Ye still couldn’t determine exactly what secrets Chiron harbored, but tending to his wounds was the most urgent matter. With little else pressing, Xiao Ye had already arranged personnel to handle various affairs. Black Hawk's situation was settled, and Ouyang Nana had completed her mission and returned to the border. Xiao Ye left the hospital, heading straight for the port.
When he arrived, Mouse had already moved all the equipment into the warehouse. At that moment, Mouse was slumped at the warehouse entrance, panting heavily, his face pale. Naturally thin and weak, Mouse had struggled to move several tons of gear reclaimed by Chiron. Seeing Xiao Ye approach, Mouse looked as if he'd spotted his savior and hurried over.
"Young Master Xiao, why did you take so long?"
"Some minor issues. Is everything with the equipment sorted out?" Xiao Ye replied calmly, as if the earlier confrontation with four men had nothing to do with him.
Mouse nodded. Previously, Xiao Ye had arranged for the four bodies to be discreetly removed, so Mouse was unaware of what had happened. Xiao Ye surveyed the area and continued, "I’ll assign someone to handle security here."
His intention was clear: too many eyes were now fixed on him. While the equipment wasn’t especially important, it could become troublesome if it fell into the wrong hands. Hearing this, Mouse suddenly grew anxious.
"Young Master Xiao, I can do it, there’s no need for anyone else," he protested.
Xiao Ye spent some time explaining before Mouse finally understood.
While the two spoke, Xiao Ye’s phone rang abruptly. It was Qin Xue’er calling.
"Xiao Ye, can you come to the company? Some people have shown up," her voice sounded flustered, uncertain of what had happened.
"Don’t worry, I’ll be there right away." Xiao Ye said no more, hung up, and drove straight to the company.
Inside the Xiao Family Company, a group of men in black surrounded a middle-aged man seated in the conference room. Qin Xue’er entered, her face masked, hiding any trace of panic.
"President Qin, I’ve given you plenty of time. Will you accept the terms I’ve proposed or not?" The middle-aged man, named Wang Mengde, wore a smile tinged with menace as he looked at Qin Xue’er.
What he wanted was simple: for Qin Xue’er to hand the Xiao Family Company over to the Ye family. Of course, he hadn’t revealed his true identity.
Beneath her mask, Qin Xue’er’s expression shifted slightly. She had only just spoken to Xiao Ye, but hadn’t expected the other party to press so quickly. Taking a deep breath, Qin Xue’er sat down and addressed Wang Mengde with a polite smile.
"I’m still unclear—what exactly are your terms, Mr. Wang?"
Wang Mengde smiled again, the look in his eyes turning unfriendly. "I plan to offer you some concessions. Your company isn’t worth much; here’s my offer: two hundred million, and—" he chuckled, moving directly toward Qin Xue’er, reaching to remove her mask.
"If President Qin is willing to spend a night with me, I’ll add another fifty million as a bonus!" As his words fell, Qin Xue’er deftly avoided his hand.
"Mr. Wang, please conduct yourself with dignity!" Qin Xue’er rose and stepped back, her beautiful eyes burning with disgust, her tone firmer.
Wang Mengde was momentarily stunned by her reaction, then smiled and waved dismissively. "No need to be so tense, President Qin. Since I’m willing to meet you, it means you’re a friend. Friends should be candid with each other."
His smile grew broader. Though Qin Xue’er’s face bore scars, her figure remained exceptional.
Unconsciously, he swallowed, his intentions all too obvious.
"That won’t be necessary," Qin Xue’er shot Wang Mengde a glare and replied, "Your offer lacks sincerity, and we have no plans for an acquisition. Please leave!"
Wang Mengde was naturally displeased. As the Ye family’s director and their mouthpiece, he was unaccustomed to rejection.
"President Qin, this is my greatest sincerity. Do you really intend to refuse me?" His eyes flashed with malice, but Qin Xue’er held firm.
"Sorry, we’re not interested. Please go!"
No sooner had she spoken than Wang Mengde strode forward, grabbing Qin Xue’er by the throat and forcing her onto the sofa. The calm had vanished from his face, replaced with a vicious glare.
"You wretched woman! I gave you a chance, and you dare play games?" He pinned her hands, shouting angrily.
Qin Xue’er struggled desperately, but as a woman in frail health, she couldn’t break free. The ferocious expression on Wang Mengde’s face brought back memories of what had happened five years ago.
Her breathing grew labored, her face flushed, body trembling slightly, and she could only repeat two words, "No… no…"
Tears welled in her eyes, her appearance pitiful. Seeing their manager assaulted, the staff nearby tried to intervene, but Wang Mengde’s bodyguards glared menacingly and blocked their way.
"It’s fine, don’t be afraid," Wang Mengde said, watching Qin Xue’er’s distress, swallowing hard as he prepared to lean in.
Just then, the door was suddenly kicked open! The glass shattered into countless fragments, and through them, a figure rushed straight at Wang Mengde.
