"Xiao Ye?" Chen Jiashen's face was marked with confusion; he had never heard that name before.

"Perhaps you’ve had dealings with the Xiao family of Jianghai City," the woman continued.

Chen Jiashen pondered for a moment. He had been in Jianghai City for a long time, and now that he thought about it, he did recall having cooperated with the Xiao family.

"That’s true. So, is this Xiao family important?" Chen Jiashen glanced at the woman before him, asking.

"The Xiao Ye I mentioned is a member of that family. As far as I know, their company has become the most prominent in Jianghai City—one could say they reign supreme here, wielding power as they please!"

At these words, Chen Jiashen couldn’t help but snort derisively.

"Dominating this small Jianghai City is hardly impressive. At best, they’re just insignificant insects to be manipulated at will."

Although the Chen family in the Jiangnan District was not among the largest clans, it was undeniably stronger than any family in Jianghai City. Thus, Chen Jiashen had never regarded Xiao Ye as noteworthy.

Unexpectedly, the woman spoke again.

"Naive. If this person truly cared about such matters, would he have acted against you?"

Her words caused Chen Jiashen’s brows to furrow even deeper.

"Then tell me, what should I do?" he asked.

No sooner had he spoken than the woman stepped forward, drawing close. She leaned in, her lips brushing his ear as she whispered softly.

"Such matters require careful deliberation. If you trust me, why not entrust your affairs to me? Let me handle what remains here."

Her actions were bold, her tone gentle, suffused with seductive charm. Chen Jiashen’s mind went blank; he hadn’t expected her to use such tactics. For reasons he couldn’t fathom, he nodded slightly, agreeing!

The woman smiled with satisfaction, her fingertips trailing lightly across his shoulder, leaving a faint, lingering sensation. As she departed, Chen Jiashen watched her retreating figure, suddenly blurting,

"I don’t even know your name!"

"Just call me Scorpion," she replied, her lips curling into a smile, her breath fragrant as she spoke.

With a wave of her hand, she vanished from sight.

Chen Jiashen’s expression remained dazed until her silhouette disappeared. He blinked and returned to himself.

"Everyone except those assigned to look after the young master, come with me back to Jiangnan District!"

Behind him, his bodyguards responded in unison, their movements precise and coordinated.

...

Night had fallen, yet atop Dragon Tiger Mountain, the master’s chambers were ablaze with light. Yu Han stared at a broken token in his hand, his brows drawn tight in contemplation.

"Who would have thought that Xiao Ye could strike and kill Old Ghost Wang?" Yu Han murmured, his gaze fixed on the token, his lashes trembling.

The 'Old Ghost Wang' he referred to was Wang Tianhai, who had acted against Xiao Ye and been killed in return. The token in Yu Han’s hand was forged from Old Ghost Wang’s vital essence.

Though it served no particular function, it allowed Yu Han to monitor Wang’s every move. Wang, renowned for his uncanny mastery of spirit manipulation, was notorious for his ruthlessness, his cultivation long surpassing the ninth rank.

Though Yu Han had never met Wang, his deeds left Yu Han feeling suffocated. This man’s depth was unfathomable.

Yu Han sighed, considering how to deal with the matter, when the door swung open.

Zhang Hao entered from outside.

"Haozi, what is it?" Yu Han concealed the token behind his back, smiling at Zhang Hao.

"Master, I know everything about Old Ghost Wang now," Zhang Hao replied, his expression grave.

Yu Han sighed at his words. As a leader of a righteous sect, he had not wished for his disciple to learn of these matters, fearing that association with such dark arts would tarnish his reputation.

But Zhang Hao suddenly interrupted him.

"Master, I won’t comment much on this matter. Only, I hope to avenge him with my own hands!"

Rage was clearly rising in Zhang Hao’s eyes.

Yu Han was taken aback. Zhang Hao’s emotions were off—he was consumed by hatred, dangerously so.

But Yu Han knew words would not dissuade him.

"Very well. I’ll send your uncle-master with you, to lend you a hand."

Hearing this, Zhang Hao’s eyes lit with excitement. He knelt, kowtowed twice to his master, then rose and left the chamber.

Yu Han sighed again. This time, Zhang Hao’s confidence was sure to be tested. Still, it was for the best; with his junior accompanying him, he would grow from the experience—as long as he kept his life.

...

The next morning, Xiao Ye rose early, completed all formalities for Qin Xue’er, and summoned Red Dragon.

"King Xiao, what are your instructions?"

"Let’s go, come with me to look at some houses."

They drove for some time, arriving at Jianghai City’s most bustling real estate development.

Upon getting out, they found two people waiting—a young man and an elder.

The old man’s aura was formidable, far stronger than anyone Xiao Ye had previously encountered in Jianghai City. This, he realized, was the strongest opponent he had met here.

"Xiao Ye, we meet again!" Zhang Hao’s face was fierce as he addressed Xiao Ye.

Xiao Ye remembered him—the man he had encountered at the black market before. The elder at his side was surely the helper he had brought.

Red Dragon’s expression was grave; he knew what was about to unfold.

"You’re the one who injured my nephew?" the elder squinted at Xiao Ye, his voice icy.

"Yes, that was me. What of it?" Xiao Ye replied coldly, ignoring the old man.

"Uncle-master, don’t waste words with him. I can’t wait to kill him!" Zhang Hao, seeing the elder hesitate, shouted impatiently.

"Silence! Are you sure you won’t leave?" the elder’s gaze flashed coldly, his rebuke sharp. He then turned to Xiao Ye.

"Words are pointless. As I said before, if you wish to come, then do so."

Before Xiao Ye could finish, the elder’s figure erupted forward, charging at him! His movement left a blurred afterimage behind and a crackling sound filled the air, as if he meant to break the sound barrier.
