Chapter Sixty-Three: The Woman Like a Devil
Chapter Sixty-three: A Devilish Woman
In front of the medicinal cuisine restaurant, ten cars of various models were parked in neat rows. Jin Biao strode out of his black Mercedes S350, his expression calm as he gazed at the storefront. He had to admit, his wife’s eye for real estate was impeccable; five years ago, they purchased this place for less than half a million, and now, even with a three-million offer, he wouldn’t sell.
Weng Qing had long told Jin Biao that this location was destined to become the center point for their future expansion into the southern district of Hedong City. Last year, they leased the place to Ruan Qingshuang for a modest twenty thousand a year, only because Weng Qing had seen through Ruan Qingshuang’s timid nature, making it easy to reclaim the property any time.
But Jin Biao never imagined that the woman his wife had described as weak would suddenly rise to become the leader of Hedong City’s southern district. To him, it was nothing short of a fairy tale—utterly unbelievable.
Jin Biao wasn’t some reckless youth fresh out of society; he wouldn’t blindly charge into the southern district without knowing the situation. If he were that type, he’d have been dead five years ago.
Last night, Jin Biao contacted a man known as the Infantry, who dealt in illegal car sales. He knew Infantry was well-connected, had ties with Lü Feng, one of the Three Tigers of South City, and most importantly, loved money above all else. Ten thousand was all it took for Jin Biao to buy his information.
Coincidentally, because of Qiangzi’s activities in car dealing, Infantry had become even closer to Lü Feng, giving him clear insight into the situation here. At first, Infantry hesitated, but eventually succumbed to the lure of money, divulging everything he knew.
Jin Biao came today fully prepared, confident of success. He used a diversion, sending Zhao Sanlai with over two hundred men to smash the branch in Hongnan District, deliberately to lure the enemy out. Once all their forces rushed over, his true target would be left an empty shell.
Though Hongnan and Wenhui districts weren’t far apart, it would take nearly twenty minutes to drive back at best, and he’d arranged for Sanlai to keep their people pinned there. He believed that, armed as he was, Sanlai would not be trifled with, even by the Three Tigers.
Thus, Jin Biao could leisurely smoke a cigarette outside the medicinal cuisine restaurant, flanked by thirty of his toughest men. Among them were Xia Lei and his band of Northern Tigers, fresh from the Northeast, as well as Liu Huazi and a pack of Southern Dragons from across the Yangtze.
“Brother Biao, aren’t we going in yet?” Xia Lei, impatient by nature, could barely restrain his eagerness.
Jin Biao smiled as he smoked, “What’s the rush? Sooner or later, the southern district of Hedong will be ours. When Wenwu comes here, you all must give him your best support.”
Liu Huazi’s face bore a sinister look. “Brother Biao, is the guy who hit the young master here too?”
“He’s gone,” Jin Biao replied with a faint smile. “Rest assured, that brat in Sanlai’s hands is as good as dead. Sanlai’s got a gun. He’s the best man for this job.”
With that, Jin Biao’s smile turned cold. To weed out threats, he wanted Zhao Sanlai to shoot that bastard dead—even if Sanlai had to hide for a couple of years, Jin Biao couldn’t swallow the humiliation of his son nearly being beaten to death.
Xia Lei spat on the ground, “Hedong’s gun crackdown is intense now; only Brother Sanlai would dare shoot. Brother Biao, you really trust him. When will you treat us with the same trust?”
“Haha, Sanlai’s been with me since he was fifteen—twenty years now,” Jin Biao said, a touch of pride in his voice. “That’s something you can’t compare to.”
“Brother Biao, let’s do it,” Liu Huazi said coolly. “Sanlai’s probably finished over there.”
Jin Biao nodded. “Listen up, nobody damages anything inside. This is my property. Medicinal cuisine is popular here in Hedong—it’s a lucrative business. Once we reclaim the building, the business will be ours too.”
Inside, no one sensed the looming danger. Qiu Yan was shut away in her room, nurturing her qi and blood. Ruan Qingshuang was guiding Guoguo with her homework. Qin Wan’er had gone out to invite the TV station’s Gao Song for dinner, but ended up being a guest at his home, unlikely to return soon.
With some people still out, Ruan Qingshuang hadn’t locked the door.
Xia Lei was first through the door, bellowing, “Where is everyone?”
Guoguo was startled. If her father Yun wasn’t absent, she would’ve confronted the intruder herself—such shouting in the night, as if a robbery, was nerve-wracking.
Ruan Qingshuang hurried downstairs, nervous at the sight of their ferocity. “We’re closed for the day. If you want to eat, please come earlier tomorrow.”
Seeing the striking beauty of the boss, Jin Biao was surprised. He’d heard from Weng Qing and his son that the tenant was a beauty, but hadn’t expected her to be this stunning—so alluring he felt the urge to stray.
Xia Lei was equally amazed. Such a gorgeous woman, he really didn’t want to lay a hand on her, nor scare her.
“Are you the owner?” Liu Huazi, unversed in compassion, asked coldly, “Are you the one who unified the southern district?”
Ruan Qingshuang hesitated, then nodded, “Yes… it’s me.”
“I’m Weng Qing’s man,” Jin Biao said coolly. “You should know why I’m here.”
Panic surged in Ruan Qingshuang’s heart. Xu Yun had really stirred up trouble. This man was obviously a wealthy powerhouse, far more formidable than the previous thugs. Just his entourage looked tougher than the Three Tigers.
“What do you want… we already bought the place…” Ruan Qingshuang said, but her confidence wavered.
Jin Biao’s eyes glinted coldly. “One hundred yuan counts as buying property? That’s extortion.”
Guoguo, hearing the commotion, came downstairs. Annoyed by the villain’s words, she retorted, “Zhou Yu hits Huang Gai—one’s willing to strike, one’s willing to take it. You wanted to sell, we wanted to buy. How is that extortion?”
“Well said, you sharp-tongued little thing. Trying to play games with me?” Jin Biao saw the girl and felt no pity. “Tonight I’m taking back the property, whether you give it up or not. What can you do?”
Guoguo was furious. Her father had just become a wealthy man with property and a car, and this man wanted to steal it away—utterly detestable. “Now that’s extortion!”
“So what?” Jin Biao said coldly. “Take them away! I want to see who can stop Jin Biao!”
“Yes!” Liu Huazi and Xia Lei’s eyes flashed menacingly.
Before Ruan Qingshuang could react, she was grabbed by the arm. “What are you doing?”
“What are we doing?” Xia Lei sneered. “Brother Biao is going to be the groom tonight! Ha ha ha!”
Guoguo, accustomed to adversity, shouted upstairs with all her strength, “Sister Qiu Yan! Help!”
Qiu Yan, meditating in her room, was completely absorbed in her practice, oblivious to the outside world. But Guoguo’s cry pierced her nerves. Qiu Yan’s eyes snapped open, and without thinking, she sprang up and burst through the door!
Almost vaulting down the stairs, Qiu Yan appeared before them, scooping Guoguo behind her, and shouted angrily, “Who are you! How dare you!”
Well now!
A second beauty appeared out of nowhere. Jin Biao was genuinely delighted—he’d never encountered two women of such caliber at once. Tonight truly promised rare pleasures.
“Haha, Brother Biao, such good fortune! Want me and Liu Huazi to help you enjoy it?” Xia Lei’s eyes shone at the sight of Qiu Yan’s classical beauty; this was exactly his type.
Jin Biao snorted, unable to suppress his smugness, “You think I’m too old? Haha, I’m still in my prime!”
Qiu Yan glared. “Filthy scoundrels!”
As she spoke, Xia Lei and Liu Huazi’s hands were suddenly wracked with pain—they released Ruan Qingshuang immediately. Ruan Qingshuang, terrified, rushed to Qiu Yan’s side, scooped up Guoguo, and finally noticed the shimmering flexible sword in Qiu Yan’s hand.
Jin Biao frowned in surprise—when did this woman produce a weapon? He hadn’t seen it.
“Damn! You wench!” Xia Lei’s hand was slashed and blood streamed down. He cursed, “If I don’t strip you naked and parade you, I’ll take your surname!”
He lunged, but he was no match for Qiu Yan. With a flash of cold steel, two slashes marked a cross on Xia Lei’s face. He screamed in agony, clutching his wounded cheeks as blood soaked his hands.
Qiu Yan’s lightning-fast whip kick sent Xia Lei flying out of the restaurant, her aura fierce and murderous as she barked, “Get out!”
The once fearsome Xia Lei, who could handle seven or eight opponents alone, was dispatched by a woman in two moves—kicked out by her foot. Jin Biao was dumbstruck.
Liu Huazi felt a chill—this woman was no ordinary person.
“Get out,” Qiu Yan commanded coldly, issuing a final warning to Jin Biao and his men.
Jin Biao couldn’t endure a woman ordering him around, even if he was startled by her prowess. He roared, “Go! All of you, get her! Whoever catches her can have her!”
It’s said that heavy rewards breed brave men, but beauty does the same. A bunch of fools rushed Qiu Yan.
But who was Qiu Yan? Even in the underworld, the name Fox Sovereign inspired terror. Few survived crossing her. Though she wouldn’t kill freely in the world above, she showed no mercy.
In a flash, seven or eight men flew across the room, only realizing their pain as they hit the ground. Some lost ears, some fingers, none escaped without injury.
Qiu Yan was a woman who valued cleanliness. Only after being kicked out did these men realize they’d lost “parts”—ears sliced off, noses severed, lips split, fingers missing…
For a moment, Jin Biao’s men were stupefied, chills running down their spines. This woman was a devil incarnate.
