The car jolted along, traversing winding roads that most people could hardly imagine. The other guests followed Director Wang Zan and arrived together at Blue Sky Primary School in the village.

As soon as their cars pulled up at the school gate, the doors swung open, and a line of students dressed in brand-new uniforms stepped out. They formed neat rows beside the car, ready to welcome the visitors.

At the front, a student with a worn drum slung over his waist beat out a rhythm with his mallets, calling out a unified cheer.

"Welcome, welcome! A warm welcome!"

A live camera followed closely, capturing the delighted smiles on the guests' faces as they stepped out of the car.

"Thank you. These children are just too adorable," said Yin Shanshan, smiling as she patted a young boy at the front on the head. The boy looked reluctant and tried to shy away, but catching the teacher’s eye, he forced himself to stand still.

"Indeed, seeing them gives me hope for our country’s future," Yu Xin exclaimed, theatrically covering her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes.

[Yu Xin is still so sensitive.]
[Honestly though, what’s there to cry about?]
[Can’t stand genuine emotion? Haters, get out!]
[So pretentious +1]

Behind the principal, several school leaders and volunteer teachers emerged to greet them.

"Welcome, welcome, and apologies for the delay. We had too much work at school. I hope we haven’t held up your donation ceremony today."

Yin Shanshan, as the representative, stepped forward to shake the principal’s hand, replying politely, "Not at all, please don’t worry. We’re here to do a good deed for the teachers and children, so we certainly wouldn’t want to disrupt your teaching schedule."

The principal’s face crinkled into a gratified smile. "Thank you so much. You’re all such kind people. Please, come in!"

As the group walked into the school, Yin Shanshan turned to the camera to explain, "That’s right, today we’re here to hold a donation ceremony. After discussion with the program team, we’ve decided to donate a batch of teaching supplies to the school. Moreover, we’ll make regular donations based on future livestream proceeds to raise the volunteer teachers’ salaries and improve the children’s education."

Wang Zan trailed a few steps behind, watching Yin Shanshan’s smooth performance for the camera with mixed feelings. This proposal had originally come from Su Wan-ning, and he had supported it wholeheartedly, winning widespread praise online.

But yesterday, Yin Shanshan had approached him, suggesting the donation ceremony be made public at the school. This, she said, would silence those doubting their intentions and bring extra exposure to the program.

There was nothing to lose, so Wang Zan agreed. But then Yin Shanshan insisted that it would be best not to have the children attend. He understood her meaning well—her animosity toward Su Wan-ning had been growing, and this ceremony was clearly aimed at her.

Lost in thought, Wang Zan followed as the group reached the playground. A red carpet stretched from the entrance all the way to the podium.

"May I have everyone’s attention, please?" the principal announced into the microphone after everyone was seated.

"Let us welcome the production team here today, and all our distinguished guests!"

Thunderous applause erupted from the students below, their hands reddening from enthusiasm.

"Since its founding, Blue Sky Primary has nurtured countless students. I regret that I haven’t been able to provide the best learning conditions, so you could grow and study as securely as children in the city... But thankfully, so many kind-hearted people in society have seen our plight. The production team present today has donated brand-new desks and chairs, as well as school supplies and equipment for outdoor activities like basketballs and footballs..."

The principal’s words moved everyone, and the number of viewers in the livestream doubled, the comments scrolling rapidly.

[I never thought the show would really donate!]
[Such a grand ceremony—are they doing good or just showing off?]
[The production team is so kind. Good people will be rewarded!]
[Wait, why isn’t Su Wan-ning here with them?]

Soon, several teachers, including many young volunteers, took the stage to speak. With tears in their eyes, they recounted leaving their homes to support the nation’s education, moving many in the audience to tears.

Yin Shanshan sat in the most prominent seat, with Yu Xin beside her.

"It was your idea not to let Su Wan-ning come, wasn’t it?" Yu Xin whispered.

Yin Shanshan kept her eyes straight ahead, quietly replying, "So what if it was?"

Yu Xin said nothing more, merely raising her hands to applaud.

"Using her suggestion, but leaving her behind—what a clever move. Su Wan-ning must be fuming right now!" Feng Rui could hardly contain her delight at the thought of Su Wan-ning’s frustration.

The smile on Yin Shanshan’s lips deepened, but Wang Zan, sitting behind them, could not bring himself to smile. He simply lowered his head and quietly asked the production team on the other side about Su Wan-ning’s situation.

The reply came back: Su Wan-ning was currently playing games and selling products with the children, and sales were going well.

Wang Zan chuckled. She really never forgot to make money, no matter the circumstance.

In fact, Su Wan-ning had no idea what was happening at the school. Vincent had been deliberately kept in the dark, and by the time he found out, it was too late. Furious, he didn’t bother confronting the director but rushed straight to Su Wan-ning.

At that moment, Su Wan-ning had just finished lunch with the children and was playing with Legos when Vincent barged in, face thunderous. She frowned slightly at his demeanor.

"You play on your own for a while," Su Wan-ning told the children, then got up to follow Vincent to a secluded corner.

"What happened? Why are you in such a rush?"

Vincent, barely containing his anger, said, "Do you know why they left you here alone? Do you know what they’re all doing right now?"

Su Wan-ning stared at him, confused. "No. Wasn’t there a task?"

She had assumed they were just excluding her from some program perk, but she wasn’t bothered.

But Vincent’s next words stunned her. "They’ve gone to Blue Sky Primary! They took your suggestion and donated goods to the school. Right now, they’re holding a grand donation ceremony, basking in gratitude and showing off for the cameras—while you, the one who came up with the idea, are left here babysitting!"

Hearing this, the first thing Su Wan-ning cared about was, "Did they really donate?"

Vincent stared at her, shocked. "Is that what matters to you?"

Su Wan-ning shrugged. "Of course that’s what matters. As long as the goal is achieved, I don’t care who gets the credit."

Vincent looked at her as if she were a different person, suspicion in his eyes. "Really? You weren’t like this before."

Su Wan-ning pressed a hand to her chest, putting on a dramatic, wounded expression. "That’s right, I’m just forcing a smile. I wish I could rush to the school right now and tear off their hypocritical masks."
