“Me?” Shi Feng chuckled. “Ellie, you guessed right—I really am not from the Canglan Continent.”

Joanna interjected, “So what are you doing here?”

“Because I heard the women of the Canglan Continent are beautiful!” Shi Feng’s brows danced with delight. “I made the right choice—this place is a paradise for men. Back home, in that tiny patch of continent, every woman is a dinosaur!”

Joanna nearly fainted. “You came here just for that? Don’t you feel the least bit nostalgic for your homeland?”

Shi Feng nodded vigorously. “Of course not. I wish I’d come sooner. What’s there to miss about a dinosaur-infested land?”

Joanna snorted, “If you’d arrived earlier, you’d still be in diapers, yet you dream of chasing women!”

Seeing the conversation teeter toward a quarrel, Ellie quickly interjected, “Shi Feng, according to Luo Chen, the late-night snacks you make are delicious.”

Shi Feng grinned proudly. “Naturally! Not to boast, but my personally developed ‘Tenfold Supreme Tonic Soup’—King Kong...”

Just then, Luo Chen, chewing on a chunk of fatty meat, shoved it straight into Shi Feng’s mouth, forcing him to swallow his words. If Shi Feng had spoken out the name ‘King Kong Invincible Artillery Soup,’ even a fool would guess its purpose.

Women’s curiosity is formidable. Joanna pressed, “King Kong what?”

“King Kong Strengthening and Beautifying Soup,” Luo Chen improvised, while Shi Feng struggled with the fatty meat. “It’s a nourishing stew, delicious and said to enhance constitution and beautify the skin.”

“Really? It beautifies?” Joanna’s heart leapt—after all, she was sensitive to the word ‘beauty.’ She was already quite attractive, but women never feel they’re too beautiful, just as men always think their gold coins are too few. So Joanna pursued, “Is it as miraculous as you say? What ingredients are used? Write a recipe, I want to try it someday!”

“Uh, well...” Luo Chen hadn’t expected Joanna to take it seriously, and cursed himself for speaking too much.

By then, Shi Feng had spat out the fatty meat. Amusingly, the fearless stallion was only afraid of eating fatty meat—a secret only Luo Chen knew.

“Damn it, are you trying to kill me? You know I’m most afraid of—” Shi Feng abruptly stopped, unwilling to admit, as a dignified man and Canglan’s top stallion, that he feared fatty meat. It would be a blow to his reputation.

He was about to correct Luo Chen when a male student approached. Handsome and elegant, with golden hair shining like sunlight—it was Kevin.

“Ellie, Joanna,” Kevin greeted the two campus belles, then turned to Luo Chen and Shi Feng, “Luo Chen, Shi Feng, you’re here too. What a coincidence.”

Kevin’s smile was always refined, but Luo Chen detected in his eyes a mocking look, as if a toad coveting a swan. His hand tightened around his fork.

Luo Chen had never harbored improper thoughts about Ellie or Joanna, but he couldn’t stand being humiliated, especially by someone who had once tricked him. Every time he saw Kevin, anger surged.

Reverse thinking! Reverse thinking! Today I picked up a gold coin, and I’m very happy!

Luo Chen kept hypnotizing himself with Nicole’s self-suggestion techniques from psychology, even imagining how he’d spend the coin, barely suppressing his rage and avoiding a public outburst.

But he felt he couldn’t waste precious time on dinner any longer. He needed to seize every moment to improve himself. If he had enough strength, Kevin would never dare to scheme against him again.

Thinking this, Luo Chen said, “Joanna, thanks for dinner, but I have to go.”

He rose to his feet and strode out of the dining hall.

The watching students whispered, “I thought that kid’s skin was thicker than a city wall, but in front of Kevin, he still remembers shame.”

“A toad coveting a swan. Who does he think he is? If Instructor Andrew hadn’t acted as a mediator, could he ever get so close to the two campus belles?”

“Exactly. But with Kevin, there’s actually a chance.”

“...”

Kevin’s appearance wasn’t just to mock Luo Chen; more importantly, he meant to confront Shi Feng after the provocative challenge during last month’s test. He looked down at Shi Feng, the meaning clear only to Shi Feng.

You want to protect Luo Chen? But I’ll target him anyway—what can you do?

“Ladies, excuse me, I’ll take my leave as well...” Shi Feng stood with a smile, but his lunchbox suddenly tilted, spilling leftovers all over Kevin.

“Oh dear, sorry about that. You know me, always a bit clumsy...” Shi Feng flashed his signature dazzling smile, lethal to women. “But Kevin, you’re a gentleman whose stomach can hold a ship—you won’t mind, right?”

With that, Shi Feng chased after Luo Chen’s departing figure, calling out, “Hey, slow down, beast!”

Kevin understood that Shi Feng had done it on purpose. The stallion’s meaning was clear: this time it was just leftovers, next time it won’t be so simple.

Even with self-control, Kevin’s smile became strained. But he had to maintain his composure; he was a gentleman, he couldn’t lose his cool. This hypocritical mask had served him well, but against someone like Shi Feng, it was useless.

Joanna spoke up, “I’m finished too. Lily, there’s work at the Disciplinary Committee tonight, let’s go.”

“Alright. Kevin, excuse us,” Ellie politely bid him farewell, then left arm in arm with Joanna. The four-person table was left with only Kevin, making him feel especially awkward.

On the way back to the dorms, Joanna said, “Lily, I admit I find Luo Chen a bit annoying, but for some reason, in front of Kevin—the one who saved your life—I always feel even more uncomfortable. Why is that?”

Ellie laughed, “What’s strange? With your personality, it’s natural you don’t like refined types like Kevin.”

Joanna nodded. “You’re right. Every time I hear Kevin’s polished words, my skin crawls, I just can’t stand it! Luo Chen’s a bit better, though that kid eats like a pig—so loud, even in front of us girls. Does he not know the difference between men and women? Lily, honestly, I’m amazed—guys as rough as him are rare! And he ate two dinners—no, actually, his appetite is four times mine! My poor wallet—if I treat him a few more times, I’ll have to sell myself for living expenses this month!”

Ellie: “...”
