Expel Raphael?

Lachi hurriedly said, “Wait, Dean, what’s going on? You’re saying the one who took the Berserk Pill was Raphael?”

“That’s right. Who else could it be? Tsk tsk, a student from the honors class provoking an ordinary classmate for no reason, and yet he couldn’t even win the fight—what a disgrace!” Ulysses clicked his tongue. “I’m expelling him not just because of his malicious brawling, but more importantly because he’s utterly embarrassing. Such a student doesn’t deserve to stay at Blue Emperor Academy!”

Lachi almost fainted. He never expected the person on the drugs to be Raphael. Although he didn’t understand why Raphael would do such a thing, he was determined to protect his nephew. Immediately, he changed his tone: “Dean, this matter seems to be different from what we imagined. How about letting me investigate thoroughly before making a decision?”

“Lachi, it’s quite different from what you imagined, isn’t it?” Ulysses’ face darkened. “At least a hundred students in the trial arena witnessed Raphael taking the Berserk Pill. Do you think all of them are lying? Besides, I personally checked Raphael’s condition at the infirmary. Do you think my old eyes are so blind that I can’t even tell if a student is on drugs?”

“No, no, Dean, that’s not what I mean!” Lachi hurriedly explained. “Even if Raphael did take the drugs, a student who worked so hard to get into Blue Emperor Academy deserves a chance to reform!”

“But Director Lachi,” Ulysses imitated Lachi’s earlier tone, “I just heard you say, ‘You mischievous rascal, with no hint of remorse, Blue Emperor Academy cannot tolerate students like you who make mistakes without the slightest repentance. Tomorrow, I will apply to expel you from the academy!’”

“You don’t remember what you said just minutes ago? Director Lachi, it seems your memory is deteriorating faster than mine. Being the academy’s disciplinary director requires a lot of effort. If your memory continues to decline, perhaps it’s better for you to find a less demanding job soon!” Ulysses spoke, his eyes suddenly blazing with intensity. The old man, with his white hair and youthful face, seemed to regain his youth in that moment, sharp and fierce like a divine blade drawn from its sheath.

Joanna and Luo Chen immediately sensed the invisible yet heavy pressure, like a tsunami descending on a calm sea. On the surface, all seemed peaceful, but every experienced sailor would be terrified. Both struggled to breathe, their psychic energy slightly disturbed, hearts filled with dread. Such was the aura of a transcendent being; the sheer force alone could break those with weaker mental fortitude. And yet, this overwhelming aura wasn’t even directed at them.

Cold sweat poured down Lachi’s face. Ulysses’ outburst clearly meant he was angry. This dean, usually lighthearted and playful, was terrifying when enraged.

Lachi understood Ulysses’ meaning. The dean was accusing him of favoritism toward his nephew, of injustice in handling the matter. If he further angered the dean, he might lose his position as disciplinary director. Gritting his teeth, Lachi said, “Dean, I remember clearly. Raphael provoked others without cause and took the Berserk Pill during the fight. This is a serious offense. I believe he should be expelled from Blue Emperor Academy!”

“Good, it seems your memory has somewhat returned,” Ulysses nodded with satisfaction, then pointed at Luo Chen. “And what about this student? How should we handle him?”

Lachi knew the dean’s test wasn’t over yet, and his own position was still unstable. Without hesitation, he replied, “Raphael started the provocation and recklessly took the Berserk Pill, losing control. Luo Chen only retaliated in self-defense and accidentally injured Raphael. Therefore, I think Luo Chen should bear no responsibility for this malicious brawl.”

The tsunami-like aura instantly dissipated. “Excellent. A man as impartial and decisive as Director Lachi is perfect for the role of disciplinary director. I hope you will continue to contribute greatly to the ideological education of every student at Blue Emperor Academy!”

“Yes, Dean!”

After Ulysses left, Lachi slumped in his chair. Raphael, it’s not that your uncle doesn’t want to help, but this time, I truly can’t. You’ve really gotten yourself into trouble.

Joanna and Luo Chen followed Ulysses out of the academic office. Luo Chen gratefully said, “Thank you, Dean!”

“Why thank me?” Ulysses turned his head. He was no longer the sharp, transcendent figure but had reverted to an ordinary old man with white hair and a youthful face. “You did nothing wrong. If the academy expelled you, that would be their mistake.”

He paused, then added, “You are Luo Chen, right?”

Before Ulysses, Luo Chen respectfully replied, “Yes, Dean!”

“Not bad, quite different from the rumors. You’re quite the character!” Ulysses laughed heartily. “And Joanna, I heard that when you were the disciplinary committee chief at Whiston Academy, you once barged into the boys’ restroom…”

Joanna was instantly embarrassed. Normally, she wouldn’t mind such teasing, but this was Ulysses—the transcendent dean—before her. She felt ashamed but didn’t understand how someone like Ulysses knew such trivial gossip about a mere student. Among the academy’s tutors, it wouldn’t be surprising, but Ulysses was different. He usually ignored major affairs, leaving them to lower-level leaders and tutors, but he showed great interest in petty gossip. Sometimes, he could watch two dogs fighting on the street with fascination for a long time.

In short, Ulysses was a man who loved to stir up trouble. Many within the academy privately nicknamed him the “Gossiping Dean.” Of course, no tutor dared say this aloud, though many agreed with the nickname.

“Haha, it’s alright, you have character too…” Ulysses was very pleased. “I didn’t expect this class to have so many distinctive freshmen—first the school beauty, Zuo Yuqing, then Shi Feng, who claims to be the chief of the Azure Wave faction…”

Luo Chen and Joanna exchanged glances, speechless. They hadn’t expected Ulysses to know about the school beauty rankings and Shi Feng. This dean was truly interesting.

Ulysses continued, “Now with the two of you added, tsk tsk, these next three years will finally be lively at Blue Emperor Academy. I hope you both will create more exciting stories for the academy. I’m really looking forward to it!”

Luo Chen and Joanna looked at each other, unsure whether to respond. Could it be that the dean only finds joy when the academy is thrown into chaos?
