VIP Volume Chapter 066: Teleportation Technique
Lefty had just managed to muster enough strength to climb out of bed, and Baldy was beginning to regain his senses. But as soon as they heard that voice, it was as if they’d heard the Devil himself calling from the depths of Hell—they both shrieked and bolted for the door in terror!
Even the thugs sprawled around Zhao Yanping on the floor dared not move. The sight of Ye Xiaoxuan catching a bullet barehanded had left them utterly shaken. No one doubted the seriousness of any warning he uttered now.
Wen Xiaoyu, however, was overwhelmed with relief and joy. Clinging to Ye Xiaoxuan’s neck, she wept with happiness, exclaiming, “You scared me half to death!”
Ye Xiaoxuan opened his eyes, his gaze gentle as he looked at her. “Don’t worry,” he said softly. “Your man isn’t so easy to kill. I won’t leave this world until I’ve given my woman all the happiness she deserves!”
Wen Xiaoyu pouted, crinkling her adorable nose in mock annoyance. “You’re such a braggart!” she scolded playfully. Ye Xiaoxuan burst out laughing, pulled her down, and pressed a firm kiss on her cherry-red lips.
Wen Xiaoyu’s face flushed crimson, but her heart was filled with sweetness. Zhao Yanping, on the other hand, was so infuriated he nearly spat blood. Just as he was about to say something, Ye Xiaoxuan pressed his palms lightly against the ground, launching himself from the floor as if propelled by springs, and bowed deeply to the assembled thugs!
The crowd, already dumbstruck by this indestructible monster, was now even more unnerved by this bizarre gesture, and they all stumbled backward in fright.
Ye Xiaoxuan addressed them solemnly, “Thank you! I had no idea it could settle down, but after all your wild beating and smashing, it’s finally back where it belongs. I feel much better now!”
They exchanged bewildered glances, unable to make any sense of his words. Ye Xiaoxuan offered no further explanation; even if he did, they would not understand.
That fervent energy which had previously roamed near his lower abdomen, always making his stomach feel as if something was stirring within, had now sunk to a spot below his navel and lay still. It felt as if that energy had always meant to reside there, and now that it had returned, he felt more stable with every step he took.
More importantly, he now wielded that energy with an ease and familiarity he’d never known before!
All of this was thanks to the rabble before him. If they hadn’t beaten him so wildly, that energy would still be darting around inside him like a frantic mouse—almost impossible to catch!
Zhao Yanping was at his wits’ end. Ye Xiaoxuan’s strength had far surpassed his wildest expectations, filling him with a fear he’d never experienced before. If this man was not eliminated, he would become a perpetual threat!
Zhao Yanping shouted at the crowd, “What are you all standing around for? Hit him! Kill him! Finish this little—”
Suddenly, with a swoosh, a shadow darted forward, grabbed him by the collar, and yanked him off the bed!
It was Ye Xiaoxuan! Not even Zhao Yanping, nor anyone else in the room—including Hua Lingluo—had seen how Ye Xiaoxuan slipped past the guards and reached the bedside!
His movement was impossibly swift, quicker than the blink of an eye. In a fleeting blur, Ye Xiaoxuan now stood before Zhao Yanping!
Ye Xiaoxuan himself was delighted. This was the teleportation technique he’d gleaned from the mural! He had used it once before at the police station, but now it was even more skillful and rapid. If he’d moved this quickly back then, the warden wouldn’t have had a chance to hit him with that ladder!
“Bah!” Ye Xiaoxuan spat in disdain, then balled his fist and drove it hard into Zhao Yanping’s face, bursting his eye and drawing a stream of blood from his nose!
It was still the classic “welcome punch” beloved by street punks, but now, Ye Xiaoxuan’s strength and speed were on an entirely different level!
The blow nearly knocked Zhao Yanping unconscious, and he let out a howl of pain. The thugs dared not approach; a man who could catch bullets was far beyond anything they could handle!
In truth, all Ye Xiaoxuan had done was grab Zhao Yanping by the collar and punch him once—nothing more. But Zhao Yanping had never faced such a situation before; being a hostage required a certain psychological fortitude, and he clearly didn’t have it!
Besides, Ye Xiaoxuan, who could survive any beating, had completely shattered his nerve. Once a martial arts master, Zhao Yanping now forgot all his training, resorting only to frantic cries for help.
After all, Zhao Yanping was a favorite of the boss; if anything happened to him, everyone present would be in serious trouble!
One thug, still harboring a sliver of hope, crept up behind Ye Xiaoxuan and brought a knife down hard on his arm. He knew Ye Xiaoxuan couldn’t be killed, and didn’t hope to do so—he just wanted to rescue Zhao Yanping.
Unfortunately, the blade struck Ye Xiaoxuan’s wrist with a dull clang, as if hitting a tire with an iron rod, and bounced back, slamming into the thug’s own forehead.
The unlucky man yelped, clutching his head and sinking to the floor, while Ye Xiaoxuan snatched away the knife and swung it down on Zhao Yanping’s right wrist!
“Ah!” Zhao Yanping screamed like a pig being slaughtered, clutching his severed wrist and wailing in agony.
Ye Xiaoxuan sneered, “Remember this: however your men treated me, I’ll return it to you in kind. All of this was done by them—if you want to hate someone, hate them!”
No one dared to move. Zhao Yanping’s howling showed none of his former arrogance. Annoyed by the racket, Ye Xiaoxuan barked, “Shut up!”
Immediately, Zhao Yanping fell silent, staring at Ye Xiaoxuan in terror. He trembled uncontrollably from the pain, eyes fixed on his severed hand, heart filled with bitter regret. Why, of all people, had he provoked such a deadly star?
Ye Xiaoxuan snorted coldly. “You know what you’re supposed to do now, don’t you?”
Zhao Yanping, gritting his teeth against the pain, shook his head. When he saw Ye Xiaoxuan’s stern expression, he hastily nodded instead.
Ye Xiaoxuan tapped his face with the flat of the knife. “Good. When will you give it to me?”
Zhao Yanping, his face twisted in misery, asked, “Brother, what do you want?”
Ye Xiaoxuan’s eyes flashed, but before he could reply, Zhao Yanping grabbed his wrist with his left hand, trembling. “Big brother, is it money you want? I can give it to you right now. Someone just paid a shipment fee!”
Ye Xiaoxuan roared, “You think all this is just for money?” Zhao Yanping dropped to his knees with a thud, begging, “Grandpa, give me a hint—what do you want from me?”
Not only Wen Xiaoyu and Hua Lingluo, but even the thugs looked at Zhao Yanping with utter contempt. This man was truly shameless in his fear of death!
Ye Xiaoxuan kicked him to the ground and pointed the knife at his nose. “From now on, stay away from my woman—that’s the most important thing! Second, have the money ready—I’ll be taking it with me right now!”
