Chapter Thirty-Six: I’m Sorry I Didn’t Make Chen Mo Give His All…

“Yo.”
The chief heir of the Rogrims family, Reinhard von Rogrims, appeared beside Alex and greeted him with a smile.
“Ha…”
Alex sighed in displeasure.
“What the hell? This is way too awful…”
“That’s pretty rude. Is that really the face you make the moment you see your big brother?” Reinhard was not annoyed in the slightest. He sat down beside Alex. The two of them were in the lobby of an airfield. They were the only people in the entire hall, and their voices echoed through the empty building.
“Fuck off. I’m the one who killed you. You and I never got along, so why the hell should I give you a pleasant look? Big brother.”
“That’s wonderful, then. The person who killed you has avenged me as well. But to think you were killed by an Asian… You really have disgraced the Rogrims family, little brother.”
Although they addressed each other as brothers, the tension between them was thick enough to ignite.
“Wonderful my ass. We failed to wipe out the Northern Ice Continent Team, and instead our Southern Flame Continent Team got wiped out by them…”
Alex’s expression twisted viciously once more, but it soon returned to calm.
“Forget it. Let the Central Continent Team handle the Northern Ice Continent Team. With their vile nature—no less murderous and soul-refining than mine, if not worse—and their terrifying, absurd strength, wiping out the Northern Ice Continent Team will be child’s play…”
Reinhard chuckled and asked, “So? What do you think of the strategist of the Northern Ice Continent Team?”
“He’s unbelievably strong. I felt as though I was being led around by the nose by his plans the entire time… And I don’t think he even showed his full strategic ability.”
“I even feel that, without setting traps to kill those two lowly spiritual-power slaves of mine and my substitute-death slave, he still could have used his schemes to completely counter and kill me.”
“I never expected that strategist to make you say something like that.” Reinhard looked somewhat surprised.
“Actually, I feel a little guilty.” Alex lowered his head and clenched his fists.
“At first, I thought I was more suited than anyone from any other reincarnation team to become the Northern Ice Continent Team’s nemesis. After all, the Southern Flame and Northern Ice continents sound like natural enemies. And because that strategist from the Northern Ice Continent Team once killed me, I would never give up an opportunity to wipe out the Northern Ice Continent Team.”
“The bloodline enhancements I’ve accumulated over the years, the items I exchanged for, the combat experience I honed, and the genetic lock I opened instantly—I used every one of them… I wanted to convey all of that to the strategist of the Northern Ice Continent Team.”
“I didn’t enjoy it, and I still couldn’t force the esteemed strategist of the Northern Ice Continent Team to use his full strength… I’m truly sorry.”
An absolute powerhouse—and the loneliness born from it. The one who will teach you love is…
Wait, that’s getting off topic.

“That was incredible, Captain of the Southern Flame Continent Team.”
Gazing into the distance at Alex, whom Chen Mo had sliced apart with a laser fired by the Pig Talisman, he sighed in sincere admiration.
“I’m afraid I’ll forget you as soon as I return to the Main God’s Space.”
With that, golden laser beams erupted from his eyes once more, slicing the already bisected Alex from head to toe and cutting him into four pieces.
[You have killed a genetic-lock member of an opposing team. You have obtained 7,000 reward points and one B-rank side quest.]
Well, you had to admit it—the Pig Talisman was even more powerful than he had imagined.
Chen Mo had always thought it was merely an inferior version of the Dragon Talisman. He had never expected the power of its laser cutting to be so formidable.
After first slicing a gorilla-like alien in half at the waist, and then cutting the Southern Flame Continent Team’s captain—who seemed to have broken through after entering some kind of berserk state—into four pieces, Chen Mo sincerely realized just how powerful it was.
He withdrew the talisman into his item space and put his glasses back on. Then he hurried over, aimed at Alex’s four-part corpse beneath his feet, and used the item space’s ability. In the next instant, Alex’s corpse vanished without a trace, leaving not even a smear of blood behind.
“We can worry about looting the corpse later. Hurry up and send me back!”
After causing such a huge commotion, there had probably been some movement from the safe house. If Chu Hao and the others discovered that he was not in his room… Chen Mo would have to come up with a very convincing excuse.
The Kurumi clone holding a holy-enchanted submachine gun exchanged glances with the other Kurumi clones accompanying Chen Mo. In the end, they could only helplessly hoist Chen Mo up and fly together toward the safe house.
Being carried—and even flown through the air—by a group of beautiful girls was an exceedingly peculiar experience. But at that moment, Chen Mo actually wished they would fly just a little more slowly. If they went too fast, he might not have time to come up with a believable lie…
…
…
Fortunately, Chen Mo’s escape—I mean, his late-night point farming—went undiscovered.
Chu Hao and the others had not witnessed the battle between the Southern Flame Continent Team’s captain and the Kurumi clones. Thus, the continuous explosions and gunfire led them to assume that survivors had appeared somewhere, or that the military was fighting the aliens.
Through the communicator, Chu Hao ordered everyone to remain in their own rooms, avoid acting rashly, and keep the lights off. Chen Mo had also kept his communicator with him. After replying to Chu Hao, he hurried back immediately after killing a gorilla-like alien.
In the end, Chen Mo successfully returned to his room before anyone noticed his absence. He pretended that nothing had happened and later chatted with the others after the situation had settled down.
However, after that battle, no one felt like sleeping anymore. They chose to keep watch instead, forming a group and staying awake until the time limit for returning to the Main God’s Space arrived.
This did not stop Chen Mo from farming points. It was merely somewhat troublesome. He used the Kurumi clones to lure the gorilla-like aliens to a location some distance from the safe house. Then, under the excuse of going to the bathroom and taking a short nap, Chen Mo quickly slipped out of the safe house and used the Pig Talisman to kill several of the aliens outright. Afterward, he used the shadows of the Kurumi clones to sneak back unnoticed.

After killing two gorilla-like aliens and obtaining two B-rank side quests, Chen Mo now possessed two A-rank side quests, two C-rank side quests, and 53,500 reward points.
He was still two B-rank side quests and one C-rank side quest short of an S-rank side quest. The side-quest rewards related to rescuing the plot characters should not exceed that threshold.
Afterward, the members of the Northern Ice Continent Team waited inside the safe house through several unbearably long hours. At last, the moment of their return to the Main God’s Space was nearly upon them.
As they watched the ten-second countdown to their return, everyone’s face lit up with joy.
But there was still one final disaster to endure: the aftershock of an attack by the Central Continent Team.
At the climax of the original story, Skyline, the Central Continent Team descended upon Los Angeles. Zheng Zha destroyed the alien spacecraft in the sky with a single punch, and the resulting aftershock caused the building occupied by the Northern Ice Continent Team in the distance to collapse, killing Jenny and Osas as well.
Chen Mo could only curse at the absurdity of it.
“What the fuck? How is that even possible? Zheng Zha possesses the power of microscopic control—at the level of approaching sainthood, no less. I’d believe that he could blast the moon into atoms with a single punch without allowing a trace of power to dissipate. And yet you’re telling me that when he destroyed an alien spacecraft, it produced an aftershock powerful enough to inflict devastating secondary damage on this poor city?”
“What kind of bullshit is that!?”
Perhaps, just as with the existence of team battles that the Main God failed to announce, someone was meddling behind the scenes…
And things unfolded exactly as Chen Mo had expected. With only five seconds remaining before the Northern Ice Continent Team’s return, a black speck came soaring through the air toward the alien spacecraft above the city.
“Primordial Chaos: Creation of Heaven and Earth!”
Although no voice could be heard, those words flashed through Chen Mo’s mind.
The next instant, the enormous alien spacecraft—large enough to cover nearly half of Los Angeles—exploded and vanished in an instant. The terrifying force compressed the air into a massive shock wave that slammed straight into the ground. Even the safe house occupied by the Northern Ice Continent Team, far away at the edge of the city, was violently affected.
The aftershock of that tremendous punch swept over them. Rocks shattered, the ceiling collapsed, and reinforced concrete burst apart. Several members of the Northern Ice Continent Team, along with the plot characters from Skyline, were about to die on the spot.
Fortunately, Chen Mo had anticipated this possibility from the beginning and had instructed Chu Hao to choose a sturdier safe house built with comparatively lightweight materials.
Fortunately, Chen Mo was here—right here with the Northern Ice Continent Team.
Chen Mo stepped in front of everyone and drew the Blood-Transforming Saber. It released a crimson radiance that formed a red barrier above their heads, blocking the falling ceiling. The hidden Kurumi clones also moved swiftly, transferring the heavy building materials out of the way.
At the same time, Chen Mo placed several Kurumi clones into a red packet and sent them back to Tokisaki Kurumi.
Then the destructive shock wave finally subsided, and Chen Mo had blocked and cleared away every falling object above their heads.
Whether they belonged to the Northern Ice Continent Team or were plot characters from Skyline, not a single person was injured or killed.
At that moment, the Main God’s emotionless mechanical voice rang out.
“Main mission complete. Returning to the Main God’s Space…”
