Before the plan began, Chu Hao had already selected a suitable battlefield: a stretch of road with few obstacles that would hinder people running across it, yet enough to impede the aliens’ advance. The surrounding buildings were neither too numerous nor too densely arranged, so the area would not attract too many aliens possibly hiding inside them. He had also used drones and robotic dogs to lure the gorilla alien to a predetermined location.

In short, they had made extensive preparations.

Jenny and Chen Mo had been chosen as the Spider Team for two reasons. First, one of them was a veteran who had used reward points to enhance her physical attributes, while the other came from a family with a reincarnator and had strengthened his body with various rare treasures. Both could run faster and were therefore more likely to complete the mission.

Second, the equipment they carried, if used properly, would allow them to withstand an unexpected encounter even if the squid aliens caught up with them, preventing them from having their brains ripped out immediately.

As for why they had to run instead of using vehicles... The aliens’ arrival had caused considerable chaos throughout the city, and most of the roads had become impassable terrain clogged with abandoned vehicles. They would certainly get stuck if they tried to use one.

It also seemed that Varun had no way of obtaining a flight pack, so the two of them could only rely on their own legs to draw the aliens’ fire.

After dealing with the squid alien blocking their path, the two continued running unhindered. No ridiculous mishaps, such as tripping and falling, occurred.

Several octopus monsters also closed in from other directions or pursued them from behind, but Chu Hao warned them in time. They spotted the creatures immediately and used their own methods to intercept them, so nothing unexpected happened.

A short while later, the two ran into the area Chu Hao had designated as Point A. It was a location filled with abandoned vehicles, which had been carefully arranged to leave a clear passage for them to escape through.

“Good. Keep moving. Don’t look back. Be careful of the sudden thrust from the explosion behind you...”

The squid aliens flew extremely fast. By the time Jenny and Chen Mo had crossed Point A, the creatures had already caught up with them... but this was entirely within Chu Hao’s expectations.

Watching the scene through his sniper scope, Chu Hao pressed one of the buttons in his hand as soon as the aliens entered Point A.

Boom——

The button detonated the explosives hidden inside the vehicles. The blast also ignited the gasoline drums placed among them, and the violent explosion completely swallowed the several approaching squid aliens. Jenny and Chen Mo felt the ground tremble beneath their feet as they ran, followed by a powerful thrust from behind.

However, the two had been prepared and were not greatly affected. They quickly regained their balance and continued forward. At the same time, the Main God’s notification rang out.

[Small Octopus Weapon killed. Obtained 1,500 reward points.]

...

The notification sounded five times in total. In other words, that explosion had directly eliminated five aliens. With each alien worth 1,500 reward points, that meant...

In that single wave, every member of the North Ice Continent Team had obtained 7,500 reward points!

Even Chen Mo, who had expected this, could not help being astonished by the sheer number of reward points pouring in. The efficiency of obtaining reward points in the Third Generation was simply astounding, many times greater than in the First Generation.

But this was only the beginning. At least five more squid aliens, along with the gorilla alien, were still waiting to be slaughtered. There were also the rescue side missions related to the characters from the original story, not to mention the side missions and reward points he could obtain later by going out and hunting aliens himself...

He was someone with a cheat ability. He needed to adapt as soon as possible to receiving such enormous quantities of side-mission reward points, and he also had to determine how many points he could safely farm.

The two continued running toward the other demolition points. When Jenny heard the Main God’s notification, her spirits rose sharply, as though a powerful stimulant had been injected into her body, and her pace quickened.

Heaven help her. As a veteran who had never even encountered a side mission and had received little more than the fixed survival reward in each world, these 7,500 reward points represented a fortune that would normally require her to survive seven entire story worlds to accumulate—and this was only a fraction of what they could earn!

As the saying went, profit moved the heart. With danger closing in behind them, the lure of enormous rewards, and the effects of Chen Mo’s hypnotic suggestion, Jenny’s legs moved considerably faster. Seeing this, Chen Mo increased his own pace in cooperation, and the two ran onward together.

The operations that followed were simply repetitions of the same method. They lured the aliens into demolition zones where various explosives had been prepared, then immediately ran beyond the blast radius. Once the aliens entered the area, Chen Mo detonated the explosives.

Boom——

...

The final two squid aliens were killed by the explosions. During the process, two more squid aliens were attracted to the area and were also lured into the demolition zones and destroyed. Including the squid aliens killed earlier, a total of thirteen squid aliens had been eliminated.

The total reward was...

19,500 reward points!

That was an amount that would normally require surviving twenty story worlds to accumulate. Yet they had farmed it all in a single operation. According to Jenny, they needed 50,000 reward points to return to the real world. That meant they had already gathered two-fifths of the required amount!

The others had never witnessed the Main God’s supposedly endless exchange and enhancement options, but 19,500 reward points were still enough to leave anyone stunned. Jenny in particular could no longer conceal the delight on her face. In an uncontrollably cheerful voice, she exclaimed,

“Oh my God, this is wonderful! We’re rich, truly rich... This is incredible! We obtained so many reward points from a single story world! When we get back, I’m going to exchange for so many things. I’ll even exchange for time in the real world. I want to bring my mother cancer medicine. I also want to exchange for my favorite Pokémon, and—and...”

“Let’s wait until we’ve actually returned. At the very least, wait until we’re back in the safe house before discussing how to spend the reward points.”

Chen Mo interrupted Jenny. Her voice had traveled through the headset and been heard by everyone. It was certainly encouraging for morale... but their mission was not over yet, Big Sis.

Boom——

Another explosion erupted at the demolition site the two had already left behind. A gorilla alien, its entire body ablaze, burst from the flames. Scorch marks covered its body, and the blast had torn away much of its outer shell, exposing the flesh beneath. Its inner body appeared to be a mixture of blood and machinery.

Like the other squid aliens, it had been struck head-on by the successive explosions planted along the route. Yet the blasts were still unable to kill it. They could only damage its outer shell slightly and hinder its movements for a brief time...

The gorilla alien crushed a sedan beneath its foot. Its eyes remained fixed on the fleeing pair as it pursued them, engulfed in flames.

“It looks like the explosions still weren’t powerful enough...”
