"Wan'er, fine, since it has come to this, let us leave together." Wan'er had waited for me for two thousand years, and I had no reason to leave her behind.

Walking outside, I found Fatty Shao. "Brother, I have to go!" I pulled him into a hug, feeling a deep ache in my heart.

"Leave? Where are you going? Take me with you!" Fatty Shao's voice turned somewhat hoarse.

"I don't know, I don't know where I'm going either. But I must leave. Give this to your aunt." I took out the bank card and handed it to Fatty Shao.

"Brother, what do you mean by this? You look down on me! This was given to you by my aunt; don't even think about ditching me, I'm coming with you." Fatty Shao pushed the bank card back to me, his face set with stubbornness.

"Chuyuan, brother has thought it through. I will never dabble in Yin-Yang matters again. I am leaving this place to find a peaceful spot and live a stable life. You cannot follow me; you have your own future." I patted the Three-Foot Longyuan sword on his back. "I am giving this to you. My family no longer needs to pass this down." My father had become the Ghost King, and my second uncle had become the Underworld King; I figured my family would no longer rely on walking the border between Yin and Yang to make a living. Seeing the sword reminded me of my second uncle and my mother, so it was better for me not to lay eyes on it.

"Brother, I want to go with you." Fatty Shao stood by my side, his emotions entirely sincere.

I shook my head. "No, truly, I cannot." I forced the bank card back into his hand and pushed him out the door. The moment I closed the door, a wave of discomfort washed over me. Yet, I genuinely could not bring him along. I was going to live with two ghosts, and it would make no sense for him to come. I had already stepped out of the Yin-Yang realm and would never involve myself in those affairs again.

Just as I was packing my belongings, a group of people arrived at my house: Yufang, Cao Xuan, Mayor Cao, Yingzi, even the village chief, and of course, Fatty Shao.

I pulled Fatty Shao aside. "Was it you playing tricks again, you little punk?"

"Hehe, I couldn't keep you here myself, so I had to let them do it," Fatty Shao said with a grin.

The village chief had his wife cook a large spread of dishes at Wei Qi's house. A group of people who had no business gathering together were now all crammed into one room. Mayor Cao spoke first, saying that everyone was researching the I Ching and Feng Shui nowadays, and with my skills, I could completely open a Feng Shui shop in the county town—not only could I support myself, but I could also stay right here. That way, if anyone needed help, we could look out for one another.

In truth, opening a shop was something Wei Qi and I had actually considered back then. We had thought about making money on one side while practicing cultivation on the other. But now, times had changed, and everything looked different. I no longer had the heart for any of that; I only wanted to find a quiet place and live a steady life.

The village chief was equally enthusiastic, saying that the new house was already built and I couldn't leave. Staying in the village meant I would be a permanent resident, and he added that as long as he was a village cadre, no one would dare say otherwise.

Yingzi's words were the most touching. She asked me to stay by her side and wait for Wei Qi to return. Their words made my heart tremble, and I could only stall by saying we would talk about it tomorrow.

Almost everyone got drunk, except for me. I asked Yufang and Cao Xuan to take Fatty Shao away because Wang Ying was back, and there was simply no room for him to stay here. In the dead of night, Wan'er and I hastily packed our things, left a note for Fatty Shao, and departed from Wei Family Vegetable Garden Village.

I wrote the letter myself; I will read it out right here.

*Brother Fatty Shao:*
*I have left after all. I'm sorry!*
*I don't know if I am running away, but I simply cannot bear to face reality. The changes in my family are too overwhelming for me to endure, and under no circumstances can I continue down the path of a Yin-Yang walker. My aunt has left; you can inherit her mantle. Either go to Luohe to continue her Feng Shui business, stay right here, or head to the county town. I believe that with Mayor Cao's connections, you can establish a very decent shop of your own. I am gone. If fate allows, we will meet again.*

After finishing the letter to Fatty Shao, I wrote another one to Yingzi. This letter was terribly difficult to write; I didn't know whether I should encourage her or comfort her, and could only hope that she would find Wei Qi soon.

I also wrote brief notes to the village chief and Mayor Cao, thanking them for their concern.

With everything ready, Wan'er and I helped Wang Ying onto the Purple-Gold Colt. Riding atop the beast and looking down at the pitch-black expanse of the earth below, I suddenly realized I hadn't even planned where to go.

"Wan'er, where should we go?" Since Wang Ying had yet to wake up, I had no choice but to ask Wan'er.

Wan'er shook her head. "Wherever brother goes, I go."

Looking out into the gloomy night, amidst a wave of sorrow, I realized I had nowhere to go and didn't even know our destination. In the end, we headed straight for my hometown.

My home was Wangjiapu, Anzhuang, Juxian County. There were still five tile-roofed rooms left at home, so we could stay there temporarily. No matter what, this was my home. My father had left, I had left, and my second uncle and my mother had left. Even though my family was scattered in ruins, I couldn't just let it sink into oblivion. I had to go back and uphold the family name.

Favored by the cover of night, we arrived home before long. Although the main gate was locked, it couldn't stop me; I used the Feng Chi divine weapon to snap the gate lock. In the dark, the ground was covered with withered fallen leaves. I would clean it up once dawn broke.

"Wan'er, the conditions at home aren't very good. I've wronged you," I said to Wan'er, as Wang Ying was still unconscious and unable to converse.

"This place is quite nice! It's a little worse than Aunt's house, but much better than Wei Qi's home. I like it here. The small room inside will be mine, right?" Wan'er said, pointing to the room where I used to live.

I nodded. "As you like. You can stay in whichever room you please."

After settling everything, I put away the Purple-Gold Colt and opened the soul urn to take a look at Qingting. The girl had grown quite a bit taller and insisted on coming out to play. Since Wan'er was feeling rather melancholy, it was a good time to let Qingting keep her company. Besides, it was night, and the Yin energy was plenty strong; with me around, nothing would go wrong.

Wan'er and Qingting busied themselves tidying up her room, while I began to purge the Yin poison from Wang Ying's body. Originally, I intended to take off Wang Ying's clothes, but Wan'er was right there, and it wouldn't be appropriate if it made her uncomfortable to see it. Therefore, I helped expel the Yin poison through Wang Ying's clothes. I sat cross-legged, pressing my hands against her back, clearing my mind, and drawing up the genuine Qi from my Dantian to slowly channel it from her back into her body.

Just as the genuine Qi within me was slowly flowing into Wang Ying, I felt a chilling, icy coldness reflect back from within her body. A sudden thought struck me: Wang Ying had been controlled by Xingyun, but who controlled Xingyun? The person disguised as Wei Qi, Zuo Yi, had claimed that Xingyun was my second uncle's subordinate, which was clearly wrong. Thinking back now, my father was the ultimate mastermind.

The onlookers see more than the players in the game; now that I calmed my mind and thought it over, my old man was the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. Why would he do such a thing?

"Cough, cough!" Just as I was channeling genuine Qi into Wang Ying while letting my mind wander, she suddenly began to cough, her body trembling violently as well. I hurriedly stopped the technique and rushed over to check on her, only to see dark blood gushing from the corners of her mouth.

"Wang Ying, Wang Ying, are you alright?" Seeing Wang Ying in that state, a wave of heartache washed over me, and I pulled her into my arms. Wan'er and Qingting also heard my shouts and ran out from the inner room.

Wang Ying slowly opened her eyes and looked at me blankly. "You... who are you?" With those words, her eyes slowly closed, and she slumped softly into my arms.

My heart felt as though it were being shredded by knives. It seemed her soul had not fully awakened yet. I felt her wrist; although there was no pulse, her Yin soul was still intact, merely trapped in a static state. Tonight's attempt had to end here; starting tomorrow, I would continue channeling genuine Qi for her.

"Brother, are... are you alright?" Seeing me lay Wang Ying down, Wan'er walked over with a tissue to wipe away my sweat.

"I'm fine. It's getting late, you two should rest." I waved my hand at the two of them.

Wan'er walked out and returned with a basin of water. "Brother, wash your face, and wash your feet afterwards." Qingting handed over a towel from the side. Looking at the two of them, a wave of warmth flooded my heart. If only Wang Ying could come back to life, how wonderful that would be!

Waking up the next morning, the room was dead quiet. I straightened my clothes and walked outside. The courtyard was spotless; those dead leaves had been swept to the side and piled neatly together. Wan'er was busy doing laundry there, washing the bedsheets and quilts from the house.

"Wan'er, take a break. Don't wear yourself out. Where is Qingting?" I walked over, looking at the industrious Wan'er with a deep sense of embarrassment.

"I'm not tired, so I don't need a rest. Qingting went back into the soul urn; she doesn't have a physical body and cannot come out during the day," Wan'er said with curved eyebrows and a cheerful expression.

Looking at the capable Wan'er, I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt toward her. When Wang Ying woke up, I would definitely have to persuade her so that the two of them could live together in peace. Writing this down, let me clarify: it wasn't that I had selfish desires to take two wives, but no matter what, I had to give Wan'er her rightful status!
