With the appearance of the Divine Fengchi Weapon, Ziyi was stunned. In truth, I had no idea that my blood had reached this state only after two millennia of repeated evolution; the Ziyi of two thousand years ago possessed no such capability.

Although the Divine Fengchi Weapon had manifested, its blade glowing with a sharp, piercing light, I could not bring myself to use it against Ziyi. After all, he was my past self—to strike him would be to strike myself.

"No, you must not hurt him!" Wan'er rushed over to shield Ziyi. Her face was etched with anxiety and worry, and her slight frame trembled in the breeze. I finally understood why Ziyi had been willing to break into the tomb of the King of Ju to find the Blood Linglong. This girl was so good to him—so good that I felt a tinge of jealousy.

Yet, I could not afford to be jealous, for he was me, and I was him; it was merely a dislocation of time and space.

"Wan'er, step aside. This fellow is likely using some sort of sorcery. If I had my Luoshui Ring, I wouldn't fear him at all." Ziyi gently helped Wan'er to the side, then, gripping the Fengchi Sword, he walked toward me.

"Brother, you are truly confused. I really did come from two thousand years in the future! I don't want to hurt you, so don't force my hand." I took a step back.

"Brother! Brother!" As I retreated, Ziyu came running over. Seeing the two of us, she was equally stunned. "What is going on here?"

"Ziyu, come here quickly. He is not your brother; I am. This man is a monster!" Ziyi pulled Ziyu toward him.

Ziyu stared at me with wide eyes. "A monster? He doesn't look like one! But he looks so much like you." She did not seem afraid of me and leaned in to get a closer look.

"Ziyu, I’ll tell you the truth. I am your brother’s descendant—in other words, I am your brother two thousand years from now." The explanation felt awkward even to me.

"What are you talking about? Are you a spy from the State of Lu?" Ziyu asked.

"I am definitely not," I hurriedly explained, though no matter how I tried to clarify, it was difficult to make her understand.

"Wan'er, stop wasting time with him. Quickly, give me the Luoshui Ring."

Ziyu’s hand trembled as she pulled a ring from her person and handed it to Ziyi. Looking at the ring, I was overcome with excitement. With it, I would become much more powerful; I could save Wang Ying, find Wei Qi, and avenge Li Danian and the others. But how was I to get my hands on it?

While I was pondering how to obtain the Luoshui Ring, Ziyi had already slipped it onto his finger. With a flick of his wrist, he raised the Divine Fengchi Weapon and slashed toward me. Though the sword lacked a visible blade-aura, I could feel a surging wave of force emanating from it—a relentless, overwhelming pressure rushing toward me. I dared not block it head-on and scrambled away in fear.

The spot where I had just been standing was immediately carved into a trench over a meter deep by his sword energy. The Luoshui Ring was far too powerful; how was I to deal with it? Most importantly, I could not fight him with all my might. He didn't know the truth, but I did! If I fought him recklessly, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Wait, don't attack!" Seeing Ziyi raise his sword again, I shouted.

"Are you scared? If you're scared, then confess honestly: are you a spy from the State of Lu?" Ziyi sneered, looking slightly arrogant. I groaned inwardly—was I really this insufferable in the past?

"Brother, let me tell you the truth. My name is Wang Dachuan, and I am your future self. Do you understand? It means that after you die, you are reincarnated and eventually become me. Look, we even have the same birthmark." I extended my wrist to show him the dragon-shaped bloodstain. Ziyi took a glance, his brows knitting together. Clearly, he had not expected this.

Ziyu and Wan'er were also taken aback. Ziyu walked over and grabbed my wrist to look. "It really is the same! This can't be—Mother never said I had a twin brother!"

"Ziyu, come here!" Ziyi pulled her away, as if fearing I might harm her. After all, she was my sister, too!

"You say you are my brother's future self—what proof do you have?" The clever girl Ziyu seemed to be starting to believe me.

"Well... does the dragon-shaped bloodstain count? I also know about the tomb of the King of Ju, and I know about your token of love," I said hurriedly, though I wasn't sure if these counted as evidence.

"You even know about our token of love?" Ziyi hesitated, and Wan'er blushed.

"That's right. You gave Wan'er a piece of Dushan jade pendant, and Wan'er gave you a silk handkerchief embroidered with mandarin ducks playing in the water." These were all true; Wan'er had told me herself.

Wan'er and Ziyi exchanged glances, their faces filled with confusion. No one else knew about those tokens.

"How... how do you know all this?" Wan'er asked, staring at me in astonishment.

"You told me!" I said, feeling more composed as things began to progress.

"I told you? When did I ever tell you?" Wan'er’s face turned bright red, and she looked quite flustered. Ziyi turned to look at her, likely wondering how she could have shared such private matters with me.

"Stop looking at Wan'er, and don't blame her. You don't know this, but in the two thousand years to come, she has been waiting for you. Eventually, she found you—which is to say, she found me. In the world two thousand years later, we were together; only, I am human, and she is a ghost." With things having reached this point, I had no choice but to tell the truth. As soon as I said it, I regretted it. History was already set; was I leaking secrets of heaven and trying to change the past?

History cannot be changed.

Upon hearing my words, Ziyi’s expression changed. "Sorcery! A liar! This is pure deception. Watch as I strike you down today!" This fellow certainly had a volatile temper.

"Wait, I have proof!" Just then, a person emerged from the side—a disheveled, unkempt man who looked like a beggar.

Seeing him, I almost wept. This fatty was actually still alive. I grabbed him. "You dead fatty, you weren't eaten by the dragon?"

"I don't know! The dragon held me in its mouth, flying and flying, and then suddenly a golden light flashed before my eyes, and I passed out. When I woke up, the world had changed. I walked and walked until I reached this place. I haven't eaten in two days," the Fatty said pitifully.

"So he has an accomplice! It seems this was premeditated!" Ziyi raised his sword, ready to strike.

"Wait, wait! I have proof! I heard everything you just said. I have evidence to show you." As the Fatty spoke, he began fumbling through his rags.

He actually pulled out a smartphone.

"Fatty, you brought your phone to Blackwater Pool? How did it not crash?" I was astonished.

"I kept it in a plastic bag! I figured if I couldn't get out, I could call for help. It's just a pity that I tried, but there's no signal now," the Fatty said, clutching his smartphone.

"What is this thing?" Ziyi clearly did not recognize a phone; it was high technology from two thousand years later.

"Brother, let me tell you! This is a communication tool called a 'mobile phone.' It was brought here from two thousand years in the future," the Fatty said, showing off the device.

I was still feeling depressed. What use was a phone? What could it possibly prove?

The Fatty fiddled with the phone, opened the gallery, and held it up before Ziyi and the others. "Look, this is what the world is like in our time. This is you after reincarnation, and this is the Wan'er you both share."

Thank goodness this guy was always fiddling with his phone; it finally came in handy today. But when had he taken those photos of us? I leaned in to look—the resolution wasn't bad, and both Wan'er and I were in the picture. It was quite clear.

Ziyi looked at the screen, then snatched the phone away. "This—this is all real?"

"Of course it's real! You are him, and he is you; it's just reincarnation. Can you two stop fighting now? I'm starving to death—can you find me something to eat?" the Fatty complained.

Ziyi, Wan'er, and Ziyu were huddled together studying the phone, with no time to spare for the Fatty or me.

"Brother, thank you! It's a good thing you showed up in time," I said, patting the Fatty on the shoulder.

"Don't mention it. Just hurry up and convince them to get me some food." This guy was a total foodie; no matter where he was, he only thought about eating.

"Once they believe us, you'll have whatever you want to eat."

After a long while, Ziyi finally looked up, staring intently at my face. "So, you really are me?"

I nodded. "I suppose so. I am your future self—the person you are reincarnated into after you die." In truth, I wasn't entirely sure if Ziyi and I were the same person.

"Brother, hurry and tell me all about your world!" Ziyu, who seemed more accepting of me than Ziyi, ran over and grabbed my arm, shaking it.
