Nine o’clock had struck!

In the northern district, a low rumble of engines filled the air as dozens of armored vehicles surrounded the demon auction house. Members of the Demon Hunters leaped out swiftly, charging toward the building.

At the entrance, two demon security guards barely had time to register the arrival of the well-armed hunters before—bang! bang!—two bullets pierced their skulls.

“Nice shooting, Yan,” Lok cheered upon seeing Gu Yan’s precise marksmanship.

“Hmph! No need for your praise,” Gu Yan replied with disdain.

“Move out.” He Molly ignored their exchange, touched her Bluetooth earpiece, and gave the command to her teammates. She was the first to storm through the auction house doors, with Jiang He and the other association members close behind.

The remaining hunters, clad in black combat uniforms, remained outside, blocking every possible exit to prevent anyone from escaping.

“Ladies and gentlemen, if two Demon Hunters have infiltrated this auction, I’d like to ask—what should we do?” The Magician’s words stunned the entire hall.

“What? Demon Hunters here? Where?!”

“That’s impossible… Wait, the air does seem tainted with a trace of human scent!”

“Demon Hunters?! Who are they?!”

Most of the demons present were weak, long used to being hunted. The mere mention of Demon Hunters sparked panic; outnumbered though the hunters were, fear gripped every heart.

With just one sentence, the Magician had thrown the auction into chaos.

Seeing things deteriorate, Cheng Feng exchanged a covert glance with Liu Shiyu. In that instant, both understood what the other meant—

Since they’d been exposed, it was time to act!

They didn’t know when the Magician had seen through them, but as long as he hadn’t pointed them out directly, there was still a chance. If they waited until every demon turned on them, it would be too late. They had to strike first.

Cheng Feng raised his gaze. Blood seeped from the pores of his right arm, pooling in his palm to form a blood-red dagger. He hurled it toward the chandelier above.

Crack!

The dagger, swift as a shadow, shattered the chandelier. Instantly, the auction hall was plunged into darkness.

“Why did it go dark?!”

“The man who attacked the chandelier—he’s the Demon Hunter!”

“Are there really Demon Hunters here? I’m leaving—goodbye!”

Chaos erupted: tables overturned, demons shrieked, arguments and cries of terror echoed everywhere.

Cheng Feng took no notice of the uproar. His left hand closed in the air, and a spirit blade crackling with lightning appeared. Pushing off a table for leverage, he vaulted toward the Magician on the auction stage.

His vampiric abilities granted him the night vision of a vampire, letting him see perfectly even in the gloom.

The dimness posed no obstacle for Liu Shiyu either. A veteran Demon Hunter, she was accustomed to fighting in such conditions. As Cheng Feng attacked the Magician, she summoned her spirit blade, Frost Moon. The air around her turned icy cold. Her blue dress swirled as she spun, drawing an arc with her blade.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

The sound of steel slicing flesh rang out. Before nearby demons could react, their throats were cut.

Blood spurted in fountains; the wails of dying demons rose in chorus.

The thick scent of blood spread rapidly. Over a hundred shocked demons turned to see Liu Shiyu cutting a swath through their ranks.

Backup lighting flared from the ceiling, illuminating the auction hall and dispelling the darkness.

Drip, drip…

Blood dripped from the tip of Liu Shiyu’s spirit blade. Around her, demon corpses lay scattered, crimson pooling across the floor.

“That woman—she’s a Demon Hunter!”

“Damn her! Get her!”

“Kill her!”

Boom!

Suddenly, the wall exploded inward. He Molly led her team in a coordinated assault, joining the fray without hesitation. The hunters clashed with the terrified demons in brutal combat.

Meanwhile, Cheng Feng was bearing down on the Magician.

Seeing Cheng Feng’s rapid approach, the Magician’s lips curled in a prepared sneer. He seized Cheng Yi, using her as a shield before him. “Take another step and I’ll kill her!” he threatened coldly.

Cheng Feng didn’t slow—in fact, he moved faster, blade thrust forward, eyes unchanging.

“Not worried about your sister’s life? Fine, then collect her corpse!”

The Magician, seeing Cheng Feng unmoved, tried to stab his arm into Cheng Yi’s neck—only to find his movements sluggish, as if his entire body had frozen.

Only then did he realize: a cold, icy aura had enshrouded him at some point, severely restricting his actions.

Slash!

Cheng Feng snatched his sister’s arm, pulling her aside. With a thrust, the tip of his lightning blade pierced the Magician’s shoulder. He followed with a kick, sending the Magician tumbling away.

“Yi, you’re safe now.” Cheng Feng removed the red blindfold from his sister’s eyes.

Light flooded her vision. The first thing she saw was her brother. Tears burst forth as she threw herself into his protective embrace. “Brother… It really is you! You came for me, you really came…”

Soon, she noticed the lightning-patterned blade in his hand, staring in surprise. “Brother, you— You joined the Demon Hunters…”

“That’s right.”

Cheng Feng ruffled her hair. “Sorry for keeping it from you. I’ll explain everything at home.”

Xue Ju had already leapt from Liu Shiyu’s shoulder and taken human form. Seeing the siblings on the stage, she hurried over. “Cheng Feng, focus on the fight. Leave your sister to me.”

“But brother, you—” Cheng Yi looked at him anxiously.

“Don’t worry, I’m strong.” Cheng Feng offered a reassuring smile, then turned to Xue Ju. “She’s in your hands. Get her out safely.”

“Understood.”

Watching her lead his sister through the chaos toward safety, Cheng Feng finally turned his attention back to the Magician, who was just rising from the floor.

“My, my, your sister is safe now.” The Magician’s taunting voice echoed from behind his white mask. “Now you can fight without distraction, can’t you?”

“So, you know who I am…” Cheng Feng’s eyes turned silver as he activated his spirit power, his tone sharp. “You knew I’d come tonight. You took my sister on purpose, just to lure me here.”

“Clever boy,” the Magician replied, brushing dust from his black tailcoat, never taking his eyes off Cheng Feng. “Yes, I knew you’d come tonight. I expected the auction would be ruined, but I don’t care. All I wanted was to meet you.”

“I don’t know you,” Cheng Feng said with a frown.

“But I know you… Elena’s first embrace!”

The Magician snickered, conjuring a black umbrella that he pointed at Cheng Feng. “I’ve been wanting to meet you for a long time.”

At the mention of Elena, Cheng Feng’s eyes grew cold. “You’re one of Dracula’s followers!”
