Chapter 26: Acquiring a New Superpower
Wesick did not expect this young man to be so lacking in honor, charging forward before his words were even finished.
The black trench coat on Wesick billowed like the wings of a bat, moving swiftly through the night, vanishing from Cheng Feng’s sight.
Cheng Feng’s punch struck only empty air.
So fast!
He was startled, and before he could locate his opponent, a bat-like shadow flickered past him—“tear!”—and his shoulder was raked with several deep wounds, exposing bone.
Bright red blood spurted forth, but Cheng Feng didn’t spare a glance at his injury; he immediately swung his fist at Wesick once more.
The recent combat training with Yan Ruying had already accustomed him to most forms of pain.
“Useless, useless! My speed surpasses yours!”
Wesick easily dodged the attack, moving his feet and engaging Cheng Feng at close range, his five razor-sharp nails slashing and leaving wounds across Cheng Feng’s body.
Within just a few exchanges, Cheng Feng was completely overwhelmed; his speed couldn’t match his opponent. Wesick was a high-level vampire, two tiers stronger than the average kind.
In a matter of seconds, Cheng Feng’s body was covered in dozens of bloody wounds, a horrifying sight.
Wesick held the advantage in speed, relentlessly shifting positions to attack, aiming to wear Cheng Feng down.
Amidst the fierce exchange of blows, Cheng Feng truly understood how difficult it was to fight a high-level vampire.
His combat prowess had already surpassed human standards, yet facing a true monster proved so daunting.
“Boy, we've been looking for you for a long time. The power of Elena’s bloodline remains within you. If I drink your blood, I’ll become even stronger!”
Dodging a direct punch, Wesick sneered, merging his five sharp nails into a single hand blade and stabbing into Cheng Feng’s abdomen. The intense pain made Cheng Feng grunt.
“Your blood must be delicious!”
Wesick bared his teeth, leaned in, opened his mouth full of fangs, and tried to bite Cheng Feng’s neck.
Seeing that hideous face approaching, a fierce glint flashed in Cheng Feng’s eyes. Without hesitation, he tilted his head back and delivered a brutal headbutt.
“You!”
Wesick, stunned, paused mid-motion, utterly underestimating Cheng Feng’s ferocity in battle.
"Bang!" The sound of skulls colliding rang out.
“Ah!”
Blood sprayed, Wesick screamed in agony, stars exploding before his eyes, his skull fractured from the blow.
Within the bloody mess of his forehead, bone was faintly visible—testament to the strength of Cheng Feng’s headbutt.
Force is mutual; Cheng Feng’s own forehead bled as well, but his pain tolerance was higher than Wesick’s, and his formidable will allowed him to recover first.
Wesick nearly fainted, swaying backward, his arm withdrawing from Cheng Feng’s abdomen, dragging a trail of blood.
Suppressing the dizziness in his head, Cheng Feng would not waste this rare opportunity. With his left hand, he seized Wesick’s arm and yanked him back.
“You enjoyed hitting me just now, didn’t you? Now it’s my turn!”
His freed right hand clenched into a fist, veins bulging, and he unleashed a series of powerful blows at Wesick.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!” Each punch sounded with heavy impact, bones cracking ceaselessly.
Cheng Feng did not let up, pouring all his strength into the assault, one hand gripping Wesick to prevent him from being thrown away, the other hammering punch after punch.
“Bang!” A strike to the abdomen shattered his ribs.
“Bang!” A blow to the chest pulverized his internal organs.
“Bang!” A punch to the jaw broke his mandible.
Another punch, channeling even more force, smashed into Wesick’s head, leaving his face mangled beyond recognition, a blur of blood and flesh, his features indistinguishable.
Cheng Feng gave it his all, his final punch landing directly over Wesick’s heart, blasting it apart from within.
Vampires were not immortal; their renowned recovery only went so far. If dead, they stayed dead.
And now, with Wesick’s heart destroyed, surely he was finished.
With this thought, Cheng Feng finally halted after delivering dozens of heavy blows. Wesick was drenched in blood, utterly lifeless, not a trace of breath remaining.
Cheng Feng’s combo spent a great deal of energy; sweat poured down his body as he gasped for breath, releasing the limp corpse in his grasp.
He knew one thing well: always finish off the villain, for they might feign death and return.
Elsewhere, Liu Shiyu was fighting a dozen vampires alone; there was no time to waste, he needed to hurry and assist.
Cheng Feng glanced at the surrounding grass, intending to find a large stone to smash Wesick’s body into pulp.
Suddenly, the corpse at his feet stirred. Cheng Feng was startled and tried to retreat, but it was too late.
A bat-like figure in black flashed behind him. Wesick grinned, grabbed Cheng Feng’s shoulders, and sank his fangs into Cheng Feng’s neck.
A sickening sound, blood gushed forth, and Wesick greedily drank it.
Cheng Feng gritted his teeth and immediately delivered a backward elbow strike to Wesick’s abdomen.
Wesick hissed in pain, forced to release Cheng Feng and leap back, but his face was filled with triumphant satisfaction. “Ha! Only low-level vampires die from a destroyed heart. You’ve underestimated me.”
“So that’s how it is. I was careless.”
Cheng Feng took a deep breath, his eyes once more ablaze with fighting spirit. The wound on his neck and the rest of his injuries had already healed. “Next time, I’ll make sure you’re completely destroyed.”
Wesick’s injuries also vanished, the high-level vampire’s healing powers unexpectedly strong—even a shattered heart could recover.
His ugly face twisted in a menacing grin. “Too late, human! You’ve missed your chance. I’ve tasted your blood, Elena’s bloodline power is mine now, my strength is rising, I shall be invincible! Ha ha!”
“Ha ha ha... uh!”
Just as he was laughing wildly in triumph, Wesick’s expression suddenly changed, his laughter abruptly cut off.
Cheng Feng, about to attack, paused in confusion—what was happening to the vampire?
“How is this possible? I can’t absorb this powerful energy?!” Wesick stared at his hands in terror, then suddenly vomited a spray of blood.
“Ugh!”
Wesick cried out in agony, blood bursting from his body as he collapsed backwards, scalding black blood pouring out.
“Looks like you’re suffering backlash from the bloodline power.”
Cheng Feng stepped forward, crouched down, raised his fist at Wesick, and offered a ‘friendly’ smile. “What were you saying just now? I didn’t quite catch it.”
That handsome smile, in Wesick’s eyes, seemed like a terrifying reaper. He screamed in terror, “Wait, wait—”
“Bang!”
Before the vampire could finish, Cheng Feng’s fully charged punch exploded Wesick’s head, spraying blood everywhere.

The system’s prompt sounded in Cheng Feng’s mind. He paused, then chose to activate a new superpower.
