Chapter 122 Qin Lianzhu
Qin Miaoyu thought to herself that these two truly had hidden things well; after more than ten years, no one had discovered this matter. If it hadn’t been coincidentally exposed this time, everyone would still be kept in the dark. No wonder neither she nor Qin Lianzhu had ever been taught anything about company management; with a son already in the picture, it was only natural in Qin Shengyi’s eyes—where sons mattered far more than daughters—that he wouldn’t consider letting them take over.
The irony in Qin Miaoyu’s gaze deepened. “I haven’t congratulated you yet. Qin Yuqi’s identity can finally be revealed, can’t it?”
Xu Xinrong wasn’t surprised that she knew about this incident. After all, her son had been placed in the Qin family; if Qin Miaoyu returned home and saw him, she would certainly figure things out.
“Miss Liang, why care so much? You’re a child of the Liang family. My boy returning to the Qin family doesn’t harm you in any way, does it?”
Qin Miaoyu shrugged. “It seems there’s no harm. I wish you the best. Lu Qi’an, let’s go.”
The car passed in front of Xu Xinrong. Watching the expensive luxury vehicle, Xu Xinrong felt that Qin Miaoyu truly lived up to the Liang family’s name; her entire bearing had become much more distinguished.
In the car, Lu Qi’an looked at Qin Miaoyu with concern. Qin Miaoyu caught his expression and smiled. “Don’t worry, I was mentally prepared for this before I came.”
Lu Qi’an thought Qin Miaoyu probably didn’t know what her face looked like right now, but he wasn’t about to argue with her over this. Instead, he suggested, “Want to go to Qifang World? My friend says it’s fun there. There’s a ride that shoots straight up to the clouds—you’d probably like it.”
Though Qin Miaoyu thought she wasn’t too bothered by what she’d learned today, a certain restlessness lingered in her heart. Hearing Lu Qi’an’s suggestion, she agreed without hesitation.
Even though she’d spent the past year traveling, she’d rarely played at places like this, since Xu Xiaoqi and Pei Yixue couldn’t enjoy such rides.
So the car changed course and headed to Qifang World.
At the entrance, someone was already waiting. Upon seeing Lu Qi’an, they respectfully handed him the tickets.
“Mr. Lu, these are your tickets and Miss Qin’s. We wish you both a pleasant experience. Should you need anything, please feel free to contact any staff at Qifang World.”
After handing over the tickets, the person left.
As they walked to their first planned activity, Qin Miaoyu unexpectedly spotted Qin Lianzhu.
Yesterday, she’d only glimpsed her from afar, judging her mood through her social media posts. But now, facing Qin Lianzhu directly, she saw no trace of gloom on her face.
It was as if the scandal of the mistress and illegitimate child had never happened, and for a moment, Qin Miaoyu felt a certain admiration for her.
Of course, Qin Lianzhu had always been raised differently from her. Su Yaqing’s plan was for the elder daughter to follow a gentle and intellectual path, while the younger would be lively and innocent—so at least one would appeal to the sons of noble families.
Thus, their upbringing differed in every way. For example, Qin Miaoyu rarely got what she wanted, while Qin Lianzhu could have almost anything just by asking.
Even if she acted spoiled, Su Yaqing and Qin Shengyi were willing to indulge her.
So Qin Lianzhu’s innocence was genuine, but she also had a certain naive, carefree air.
Yet Qin Miaoyu thought, perhaps that wasn’t such a bad thing. At least she wouldn’t always be sad or troubled.
She withdrew her gaze and focused on enjoying the day.
After a round of activities, the inexplicable emotions that had troubled Qin Miaoyu were completely dispelled.
The two had dinner, and then Lu Qi’an drove Qin Miaoyu back to the Dongshan Villa.
Before leaving, Lu Qi’an said, “I’ll be in the southern city these next few days. If you need anything, just call—I’ll come right away!”
Qin Miaoyu looked at him for a moment and replied, “Alright, thank you for today!”
If Lu Qi’an hadn’t taken her to Qifang World, she would probably still be holding onto her frustration.
Later that evening, when Zheng Suning asked about the Qin family, Qin Miaoyu could recount the events calmly.
Upon hearing that the illegitimate son was already in his teens and living near the Qin family, not only was Zheng Suning astonished, but Liang Siyuan was also surprised.
Who could have imagined such a scheme?
“So how will the Qin family handle this illegitimate son?”
“The one I met today at the Qin house, Qin Yuqi—I think they’ll officially acknowledge him. Qin Shengyi has wanted a son for so many years; there’s no way he wouldn’t bring him back.”
“And will the Qin family’s lady be willing?”
Qin Miaoyu admitted she didn’t know, but ventured a guess.
“She says she’s powerless, but even if she’s been compensated, I suspect she has other plans.”
Just as Su Yaqing used to manipulate her, Qin Miaoyu understood exactly what kind of person Su Yaqing was.
Even if what Qin Shengyi offered was substantial, for Su Yaqing, this was a betrayal that spanned years.
Now the illegitimate son could be openly brought home, and with the mistress likely still entangled with Qin Shengyi, Su Yaqing surely felt she couldn’t keep his heart any longer.
Given that, she would certainly prepare some backup plans to deal with these issues!
“Enough about these distressing matters. Miaoyu, second brother has a question—was there really no one you liked yesterday?”
Qin Miaoyu shook her head.
Liang Siyuan pressed, “Did you think they were all unsuitable?”
Qin Miaoyu shook her head again. “They’re all fine people, but none are right for me. You know me, I care most about first impressions.”
“What about Yan Chao? You two were chatting quite happily.”
“No, he’s too young—and even younger at heart. He’s not my type.”
Liang Siyuan sighed inwardly.
If his little sister hadn’t spent time with Lu Qi’an, maybe it wouldn’t be so hard now to find someone who truly caught her eye.
Though he still had reservations about Lu Qi’an, Liang Siyuan had to admit he was an outstanding man, inside and out.
Thinking of Lu Qi’an’s determined demeanor yesterday, Liang Siyuan decided it was best to let the two of them handle matters themselves.
So long as Lu Qi’an didn’t do anything foolish to upset Miaoyu again, they could make their own choices—whether together or apart, it was up to them. After all, as outsiders, there was only so much they could interfere.
After dinner, Liang Siyuan received a call on his phone—the screen showed it was his mother.
He answered, and heard her ask, “Siyuan, did Qin Miaoyu return to the southern city?”
Liang Siyuan replied coldly, “Yes, she did. Is there something you need from her?”
His mother said, “It’s just been so long since we’ve seen her. Let’s pick a day soon for her to come home for a meal.”
