Huyang really wanted to say, "Please, carry on," and that he was just passing by.

But before he could speak, the group of Team Rocket members surrounded him. Giovanni glanced toward the direction of the corridor. Some of the research data regarding the Mewtwo Project remained there, yet to be transferred. This meant that this kid had likely already discovered the truth. At this thought, Giovanni’s gaze turned dangerous.

Huyang stood his ground. Cramorant, however, looked at the guys encircling them, tilting its head in apparent confusion.

A Team Rocket member looked at the silly bird and asked, "Boss, what should we do?"

Giovanni gave the Bird Pokémon a cold look and said, "Don't let them leave this place." With that, he turned and went back to his battle with Lance.

Lance had naturally noticed the situation. He wanted to send out his Dragonite to protect the novice trainer, but he was powerless to act. If he did so, his own battlefield would collapse instantly, and none of them would make it out alive. Realizing this, Lance’s eyes became intensely focused. He waved his hand, preparing to end the fight quickly: "Dragonite, Aqua Tail!"

...

Following Giovanni’s command, the Team Rocket members took up attack stances. Seeing this, Huyang said to them, "...Actually, I think it would be better if you didn't do that."

"Huh?" One member, as if hearing something laughable, ignored him and commanded, "Arbok, use Crunch!"

Arbok lunged forward.

"Gah." Cramorant let out a dull cry.

The next second, its "Bodyguard Mode" triggered. Deep blue light condensed in its mouth, and a thick beam, appearing as if it could pierce through time, roared forth, obliterating Arbok’s body. The beam continued, vaporizing the Team Rocket member standing behind it as well.

A one-shot kill!

The remaining Team Rocket members couldn't help but retreat, crying out in terror: "What is that thing?!"

Giovanni, hearing the commotion, turned around quickly. At that moment, Cramorant had flown upward. Dozens of white circular rings appeared out of thin air around it, followed by a sky-filling barrage of cyan-white beams that rained down in a cover-fire strike. Wherever the Origin Pulse touched, nothing survived.

Seeing this, Giovanni’s pupils constricted, his heart filled with horror. That power...

After dealing with the members, Cramorant aimed its "cannon" at Giovanni and let out a silly-sounding "Gah."

The Roar of Time erupted from the "cannon," instantly piercing the body of the looming Nidoking. Nidoking’s body quickly dissipated into scattered specks of light.

Giovanni was shocked. Frowning in disbelief, he muttered, "Nidoking!" A one-shot kill—what kind of power was that?!

Having grown Team Rocket to its current state, Giovanni possessed exceptional instincts and decision-making skills. Right now, he sensed an unprecedented sense of pressure from that bird. A cold sweat broke out on Giovanni's forehead.

No... something was wrong! That Bird Pokémon and that novice trainer were both wrong! If he stayed here any longer, his entire force would likely be wiped out.

For a moment, the usually calm Giovanni showed a flicker of panic, but he quickly regained his composure and made a swift decision based on the situation. To save something, one must be willing to sacrifice something else. Without hesitation, Giovanni chose to abandon the research base.

He ordered without pause: "Onix, use Dig!"

As a new Poké Ball was thrown into the air, Onix emerged, and Giovanni jumped onto its back. The Dig move activated, and with its trainer, Onix vanished into the earth at an incredible speed.

In the first round against Cramorant, Giovanni fled.

Lance and his Dragonite were left stunned, staring at the scene until Huyang walked up to them, snapping them out of their trance.

"You..." Lance said, his face complex.

Huyang pretended to be oblivious and said, "Didn't I tell you? I really can be of help."

Lance was speechless.

Now was not the time for this. Huyang didn't say much more and quickly boarded the lift to the surface, leaving Lance alone in the ruins. Lance watched the figure leave, unable to collect his thoughts for a long time. Who... exactly was he?

Huyang was unaware of what Lance was thinking. By then, he had followed Marshadow’s guidance and returned to the surface.

As the lift door opened, a massive wave of heat mixed with a gentle evening breeze washed over him. Standing in the night was a huge, majestic figure, as if it had been waiting there for a long time. It had orange-red fur like flames, iron bands on its powerful limbs, and a mane on its back that looked like drifting white clouds. Beneath the clouds was brown fur sharp as blades. There was a red, six-pointed star structure on its cheeks and a clover-like golden shell embedded in its forehead.

If Suicune symbolized the gentleness of the north wind and water, Entei was undoubtedly the incarnation of magma. Under the evening breeze, Entei’s cloud-like mane fluttered, adding to its awe-inspiring presence. It stood on the ground, looking down at Huyang with majestic golden eyes.

Entei was indeed fluffy. But, for heaven's sake, why was it so hot?!

The temperature in the height of summer was already high; it had only just cooled down slightly with the sunset. But now that Entei had appeared, the surrounding temperature was even more extreme than at the hottest point of the day. Huyang didn't want to get close to it at all.

While Huyang was sizing it up, Entei was quietly observing this Rainbow Hero chosen by Ho-Oh. To be honest, its first impression of this Rainbow Hero was quite good. He truly possessed the qualities required of a Rainbow Hero. However, what puzzled Entei was that this Rainbow Hero seemed to be avoiding it. Why? Had it done something wrong? Entei couldn't figure it out.

Huyang really didn't want to get close to Entei, but since it concerned the other Pokémon, he had to endure the feeling of being drenched in sweat and said, "Hello, Entei..."

He explained the situation regarding the Pokémon underground and asked for Entei's help. After listening, Entei nodded, indicating it would help. Regardless of the Rainbow Hero, if Entei encountered Pokémon in danger in the wild, it would protect them. In the face of nature’s threats, humans and Pokémon were one and the same.

Hearing this, Huyang happily expressed his gratitude. Seeing his demeanor, Entei was confused again. Was the avoidance from just a moment ago just its imagination?

Huyang turned and led Entei to the lift platform. As the mechanism engaged, the platform began to descend slowly. Entei crouched on the platform like a cat. As the elevator went down, the entire space instantly turned into an oven. Huyang couldn't help but lean against Gengar to soak up a sliver of coolness.

Seeing this, Entei tilted its head and looked over in confusion. Huyang gave it an awkward smile.

Soon, the elevator landed. Lance, who hadn't recovered from the previous scene, saw a Pokémon over two meters tall following the novice trainer inside. His expression changed again.

That was... If he remembered correctly, that was Entei, the legendary Pokémon resurrected by Ho-Oh, right?
