Chapter: A Decision Made

As the title suggests, the last two chapters have been rather lackluster.

Fellow readers who have been following from the beginning know that in Chapter 133, the conflict between Du Hong and Zhang Long was quite intense. Qian Caiying arrived just in time to intervene and support him, taking the dazed and hot-headed Zhang Long home, which included a hint of romantic tension.

However, because the protagonist felt a bit stifled by being set up, the reader feedback was not ideal. Therefore, I revised the conflict plot during the day, which made things flow much more smoothly.

Changing this was the right call—at the very least, it was less melodramatic—but it made the luxury cruise trip redundant. The original plan for the cruise was to deepen the relationship between the protagonist and Qian Caiying, and to let outsiders like Du Hong know that Zhang Long was not without support. But once the conflict in Chapter 133 was changed, the cruise no longer felt necessary, so I canceled it without giving it much further thought.

Consequently, the buildup for the cruise in the previous chapters went to waste, resulting in a very poor reading experience. The plot felt disjointed and collapsed.

Staying in Shanghai for the New Year in Chapter 134 led to a series of domestic trivialities that were even less engaging. Looking back, it would have been better to go on the cruise to broaden his horizons, make connections, and attend the auction. So, I have made a decision: I am going to rewrite Chapters 134 and 135.

For now, I will stop chasing the goal of ten thousand words a day. A polished plot is more important than word count; otherwise, if the story keeps falling apart, it will only become more boring and counterproductive.

To be honest, I haven't been enjoying writing these last two chapters either. Trying to force new content after canceling the original plot has made for an uncomfortable experience for all of you.

I mentioned in my post-launch message that I am not afraid of problems, only of ignoring them and stubbornly pushing forward. So, I will be rewriting the last two chapters tonight. Those who have already subscribed will not be charged again.

Just refresh your app tomorrow morning; as long as the chapter titles have changed, you can read them then. I apologize for the trouble.

In the meantime, the daily ten-thousand-word goal will continue. While this book's performance isn't spectacular, it's decent, and I do want to earn some hard-earned money. If all goes as planned, I will write ten thousand words a day throughout May to strive for the "30 Consecutive Days of 10k" achievement badge.

That’s all for tonight. Please forget those 7,000 words of filler; read the new ones tomorrow.

Alright, I’m off to stay up late and edit. Get some sleep, everyone. Good night.
