Zombie Experience Card 13
Tianyi decided to eat rabbits.
White rabbits reproduce so quickly that Tianyi worried about a rabbit overpopulation disaster. That very day, he went out looking for iron pots, seasonings, stoves, and other cooking supplies.
Before even tasting the rabbit meat, images of various dishes using rabbit as the main ingredient already danced in his mind.
Even though Tianyi hadn’t eaten normal food for a long time, for the sake of a delicious rabbit feast...
He felt confident he could do it!
Unfortunately, before the little rabbits grew big enough to be cooked, the white rabbit stopped giving birth.
Tianyi counted and, excluding the white and black rabbits that had given birth, there were about thirty little rabbits in total.
To him, that was neither too many nor too few.
Moreover, these little rabbits were quite obedient...
Reluctantly, Tianyi temporarily abandoned his plan to eat the rabbits and silently put away the carefully selected pots, seasonings, stove, and the cookbook featuring eighteen ways to cook rabbit meat.
The little rabbits were lively and adorable, and they weren’t shy around Tianyi.
Whenever they had nothing to do, the little rabbits liked to hop around following Tianyi, as if he were their parent.
It made sense—muscular rabbits like their mother looked very aloof and neglectful after giving birth.
The black rabbit doted on the white rabbit, always at her beck and call.
Since the little rabbits could hop around, the black rabbit stopped caring about anything else and spent every day practicing with the white rabbit.
Only Tianyi, when feeding the little orange cat, still remembered the little rabbits with their remarkably strong life force.
With Tianyi’s feeding, the little rabbits all became his shadow followers.
A simple gesture or glance from Tianyi was enough for them to understand what he wanted them to do; they were incredibly obedient.
From time to time, they would follow the little orange cat, imitating—probably pouncing—actively chasing mutated mice brought back for them to practice on.
—Tianyi wasn’t quite sure.
But a group of little rabbits learning cat-like behavior, chasing mice, and even kicking and flying at the mice until the rodents squeaked—Tianyi had never seen anything like it.
How to describe it?
It felt bizarre yet perfectly natural.
The little orange cat was enthusiastically committed to training the rabbits into skilled mouse catchers.
In recent days, it no longer followed Tianyi out; it stayed home taking care of the "kids"—or rather, the rabbits.
Only Nana still followed Tianyi everywhere every day.
Considering the number of little rabbits wasn’t small, and the black-and-white mix made it dizzying when they all huddled together,
Tianyi found some dye and marked numbers on their backs.
Thus, the little rabbits finally had names.
Although a bit perfunctory, this allowed Tianyi to precisely identify each rabbit during feeding, preventing some from overeating while others went hungry.
Thankfully, the little rabbits weren’t picky eaters; otherwise, Tianyi would have to make them experience the hardships of life early on.
...
The little rabbits grew rapidly.
Although their size was limited by the muscular rabbit genes, their fighting skills had become impressive under the little orange cat’s training.
Not to mention handling a healthy mutated mouse alone, their teamwork in group fights grew increasingly proficient.
The muscular rabbit, busy with postpartum recovery, not only sparred with the black rabbit but sometimes even provoked Tianyi for a fight. At this time, it appeared before the little rabbits.
...
The little rabbits, who always wanted to stick to Tianyi, suddenly became busy.
They all carried cockleburs on their backs, running around the patch of climbing ivy, training their bodies together with the muscular rabbit.
Every day before dawn, the muscular rabbit would take them out.
Long-distance runs, obstacle courses, rapid jumps, and more advanced flying kick drills.
The wall used for practicing flying kicks was already riddled with holes.
The once soft and fluffy little rabbits now had solid muscles, and their weight and appetite increased accordingly.
Their personalities changed too, becoming more combative.

Like their mother, the muscular rabbit, their wild nature began to reveal itself.
Only in front of Tianyi and the little orange cat did they remain cute and pliable, easy to cuddle.
At night, they would automatically snuggle close, surrounding Tianyi as he slept.
After a few days, Tianyi noticed that on the climbing ivy’s territory, besides the rabbits running everywhere, cockleburs had sprouted in many places.
The closer to the climbing ivy, the fewer cockleburs there were; the more toward the edge of the territory, the more abundant.
No one knew exactly when they appeared.
It seemed to happen overnight, taking root and sprouting in every patch of exposed soil.
They even spread beyond the climbing ivy’s territory.
In recent days, whenever Tianyi ventured near the edge of the climbing ivy’s territory, he’d find cockleburs clinging to his clothes and pants.
He had no choice but to bend down and pick them off one by one.
At this moment, Tianyi was doing just that, removing cockleburs from himself.
Unlike the first time he was attacked by cockleburs on the muscular rabbit’s body,
these cockleburs sticking to him now were sharp but somewhat less so.
Thanks to his current good physical condition, Tianyi felt no pain from the prickles.
Interestingly, perhaps because of his close relationship with the rabbits, the cockleburs didn’t actively attack him.
After Tianyi picked the cockleburs off and placed them back onto the plants, they would reattach themselves.
However, except for Tianyi, Nana, the little orange cat, and the rabbits—who were immune while on the climbing ivy’s territory—other creatures were not so lucky.
Especially when the rabbits fought actively, the cockleburs would assist.
Previously, when Tianyi wanted the climbing ivy to catch fertilizer, he had to personally attract zombies. Now, he was no longer needed.
Zombies wandering from outside the climbing ivy’s territory were already covered in cockleburs, lying on the ground.
Tianyi only needed to push his cart out daily and collect them.
The climbing ivy now required more fertilizer than before; otherwise, Tianyi couldn’t imagine how they could consume so much daily "fertilizer."
As for more powerful foes...
Since the climbing ivy expanded its territory by eliminating nearby threats, there hadn’t been any more formidable advanced zombies or mutated flora and fauna for some time.
But since the cockleburs spread beyond the climbing ivy’s territory, the rabbits followed suit.
Wherever there were cockleburs, they dared to go.
And those stronger zombies and mutated creatures that Tianyi hadn’t seen for a long time began to be provoked by the rabbits now and then.
Not because they wanted to fight the rabbits, but because the muscular rabbit set traps first.
For example, at this moment—
A little rabbit was "left behind" by the group.
Because Tianyi was concerned about the little rabbits, he often adjusted his search route to follow them a bit when they neared the edge of the climbing ivy’s territory.
Many times, he saw scenes like this:
Led by the muscular rabbit, they deliberately wandered back and forth in areas where cockleburs had grown outside the climbing ivy’s territory.
They appeared like "weak and pitiful" little rabbits who had accidentally strayed.
To enhance this illusion, the rabbits would lower their heads to nibble on grass occasionally.
After this behavior continued for some time without attracting anything special,
they either moved to another spot or...
A single "weak and pitiful" little rabbit would be left "alone."
This "fishing" technique was taught to nearly all the little rabbits by the muscular rabbit.
Generally, if there was indeed a powerful advanced zombie or mutated creature nearby, it would take action by then.
If something was lured out...
Just then, Tianyi saw a mutated wild boar charge out from ruins in the distance.
Though not very large, its bristles looked tough and it ran quickly.
It immediately charged at the lone little rabbit.
Dust billowed along the boar’s charging path.

Just as the boar was about to reach the little rabbit, the other rabbits hiding nearby popped out one by one, and then...
The ensuing scene was utter chaos.
Cockleburs flew through the air alongside rabbits delivering flying kicks.
The boar, baited into this fight, was thoroughly confused as it battled the rabbit group.
While defending against the rabbits, it also had to dodge the cockleburs.
The boar’s agonized screams echoed loudly.
Mutated wild boars were supposed to be strong, but the rabbits’ coordinated attacks, their cockleburs capable of striking actively, plus the surrounding cockleburs...
Tianyi felt the scene was downright brutal.
The muscular rabbit was quite formidable.
Although it couldn’t defeat the climbing ivy, it always showed great respect when passing by.
But it kept finding ways to strengthen itself, aided by Tianyi and the little orange cat’s training of the rabbits.
Now, the rabbit group’s combat power—especially with coordinated attacks and cockleburs as battlefield support—was truly impressive.
They had become the dominant force nearby.
...
Though incredibly absurd.
At first, Tianyi worried they might get themselves killed.
But he soon realized that when confronted with a stronger enemy they couldn’t beat, the muscular rabbit reacted swiftly.
Leading the little rabbits, they turned and fled.
The rabbits’ two hind legs moved so fast they left afterimages; their speed was remarkable.
In running away, they were experts.
Once they returned to the climbing ivy’s territory, those they couldn’t beat dared not approach.
...
This time, the mutated wild boar wasn’t very strong.
With the rabbits and cockleburs’ help, it was quickly subdued.
After the owner fell, the muscular rabbit led the group away.
Some little rabbits would leave the group cheerfully, hopping happily to find Tianyi.
They were always enthusiastic about paying respect to Tianyi.
Then came Tianyi’s cleanup routine again.
Besides those given as fertilizer to the climbing ivy, the pots, seasonings, and stove Tianyi found were not entirely forgotten.
After some trials, Tianyi discovered that although he still didn’t eat regular food, he could taste the meat of these cooked mutated animals without vomiting afterward.
His culinary skills hadn’t diminished despite crossing into another world.
Given the right conditions, Tianyi could still prepare these mutated creatures into delicious meals.
Nana and the little cat both enjoyed them very much.
Some time later, Tianyi began digging wells everywhere using tools scavenged from ruins.
The water level in the wells had risen considerably recently; one well was no longer enough, so more had to be dug.
Tianyi was amazed to find such "ancient" devices in the city.
His only trouble was deciding where to dig.
The number of cockleburs on the outer edge of the climbing ivy’s territory stopped increasing after reaching a certain level.
Thanks to the rabbits’ activity, the territory’s periphery had expanded somewhat.
Patrolling the climbing ivy’s territory had become a daily routine for the rabbits.
If it weren’t for the occasional wandering ordinary zombies still seen outside the territory,
Tianyi almost thought he was no longer in a zombie apocalypse.
One day, a modified van pulled up messily just outside the climbing ivy’s territory.
