“In just a few hours, past midnight, I’ll have enough experience points to become an intermediate-level psychic. Just thinking about it excites me,” Lin Yun thought to himself with quiet joy.

Ever since that great scoundrel Ma Wanli was taken down, they lost a key source of valuable experience, and the rate of gaining experience had significantly slowed. Over the past few days, Lin Yun had personally interrogated every criminal he could, practically living in the interrogation room. But most of those criminals only had first or second-tier basic psychic abilities, providing pitifully little experience—barely enough to make a dent.

Fortunately, Lin Yun still had a senior psychic ally, Zhang Ming. Without him, who knew how long it would take to level up.

By now, Lin Yun had accumulated over nine hundred experience points, just a few dozen shy of promotion.

After distributing meals to a couple dozen prisoners, Lin Yun carried his empty food bucket back. Before reaching the cafeteria, he saw Wang Daqiang and Liu Gui rushing toward him with urgent expressions.

Wang Daqiang grabbed Lin Yun’s arm, his voice tense: “Lin Yun, you’re finally back! Quickly, put down the bucket and come with me!”

Before Lin Yun could react, Wang Daqiang pulled him toward the interrogation room.

Upon entering, Lin Yun was stunned.

On the first floor of the psychic prison, over twenty prison guards stood rigidly at attention on both sides, chests puffed out with pride—no trace of their usual casual, lackadaisical demeanor.

This scene was even more intense than when the previous squad leader had visited.

Lin Yun couldn’t help but wonder, “Could it be the deputy director? Or... the chief warden himself?”

Just as he pondered, a clatter of footsteps sounded at the door, followed by a group of people flooding in. The room seemed to darken slightly.

They carried a chilling aura, making the temperature in the interrogation room drop perceptibly.

Lin Yun shivered involuntarily, and the surrounding guards turned pale, silent as the grave.

He discreetly glanced up and saw a woman standing at the forefront, exuding an icy, formidable presence, breathtakingly beautiful.

She wore an exquisite tailored suit, clasped a gleaming knife in her hand, her hair tied high. Embroidered on her jacket was a fierce mythical beast.

Her gaze swept over the guards like a blade.

The squad leader who had conducted the last interrogation now appeared humble and servile, trailing behind her, nodding and kowtowing.

“It’s the Psychic Security Bureau,” Lin Yun realized instantly, drawn by the unique insignia on the woman’s suit.

This cold, lethal aura could only belong to members of the Psychic Security Bureau, who spent years skirting the edge of life and death battling psychic criminals.

It was as if they had waded through mountains of corpses and seas of blood, carrying the heavy scent of death.

“Is this all you have? Just this many people on the first floor of your psychic prison?” the woman sneered disdainfully.

The guards flushed red with embarrassment but dared not utter a word.

The servile squad leader smiled obsequiously, “Rest assured, Lady Chen. I will immediately dispatch more personnel from elsewhere to ensure nothing delays your mission...”

“You’d better,” Chen snapped sharply. “If anyone escapes, not a single one of you on the first floor will live to see tomorrow!”

“Yes, yes,” he stammered.

Chen tossed out a few harsh words, then turned and left swiftly—decisive and efficient.

Lin Yun keenly caught a crucial piece of information from their exchange: the psychic prison had more than one floor.

Could there be deeper, more secret prison levels? Why had he never heard a whisper of them before?

A wave of questions surged through Lin Yun’s mind.

The squad leader wiped cold sweat from his brow, then barked at the guards, “What are you standing around for? Hurry up and come with me to receive the new prisoner!”

The guards obeyed without hesitation.

Soon, two agents from the Psychic Security Bureau escorted a prisoner into the room.

Lin Yun had expected a ruthless villain but was shocked instead.

It was an elderly man with a kindly face and an ethereal, almost immortal aura.

The old man smiled gently, showing no sign of prisoner’s shame, and politely greeted the guards, “I look forward to your care and cooperation.”

Lin Yun and the other guards exchanged glances, none daring to respond.

Over twenty guards surrounded the old man, escorting him boldly toward the cell.

Along the way, prisoners in other cells popped their heads out, curiously eyeing the new “big shot.”

Finally, the old man was locked into Cell Number One.

The squad leader personally secured the heavy door, the clanging sound echoing down the prison corridor.

Among the crowd, Lin Yun felt a strange stirring in his mind—the “Prison Master’s Codex” suddenly flipped to a new page.

Prisoner: Leng Cang

Sin Index: Level Seven

Power: Super Psychic, Ninth Tier

Status: Incarcerated

Capture Participation: 1%

A Level Seven Sin Index!

A Ninth-Tier Super Psychic!

“Whoosh—”

These two pieces of information struck Lin Yun’s mind like thunder. He looked again at the elderly prisoner in the cell, his gaze completely transformed.

Who would have guessed that this kindly old man was a ruthless fiend?

A Sin Index of seven—just how many heinous crimes had he committed to accumulate such a score?

A Ninth-Tier Super Psychic!

Only one step away from being a legendary top-tier psychic!

The Psychic Security Bureau had actually entrusted such a formidable character to the psychic prison for their custody...

A chill ran down Lin Yun’s spine, a coldness piercing his skull.

Yet, the immense Sin Index and extraordinary power also promised tremendous benefits.

Though Lin Yun’s participation in the capture was a mere one percent, the experience points gained per hour were a staggering sixty.

Equivalent to three Zhang Mings or six Ma Wanlis.

For a moment, Lin Yun’s feelings were evenly split between apprehension and excitement.

He followed the group back to the rest area.

The guards whispered among themselves about the new prisoner. No one indulged in gambling or boasting as before.

Seizing the moment, Lin Yun leaned close to Wang Daqiang and quietly asked, “Uncle Wang, who exactly is the prisoner locked in Cell One? So many people escorted him, even the squad leader came personally.”

Wang Daqiang, a veteran guard, lowered his voice and glanced around cautiously before saying quickly, “They say even a few times this many guards wouldn’t be too many. Do you know who he is?”

“Who?”

“The deputy leader of the Dust Method Cult. For now, he’s being held on the first floor, but I heard he’ll soon be transferred to the lower prison levels…”

Dust Method Cult?!

Lin Yun’s heart jolted.

Though he had crossed over and spent all his time in the psychic prison, he had heard of the Dust Method Cult’s infamous reputation.

It was one of the largest criminal organizations in Xinghai City, infamous for countless heinous crimes.

Most of the terrifying major cases circulating through the city were the work of the Dust Method Cult.

Leng Cang was its deputy leader...

No wonder his Sin Index was as high as seven!
