Listening to the relentless gunfire and screams atop the mountain, Shen Xin was drenched in sweat from fear. He had never witnessed such a scene before—it was exactly like the battlefields depicted in war films.

After three or five minutes, the gunfire finally ceased. Then came an enormous roaring sound—the unmistakable thrum of helicopter rotors.

He heard four massive objects crash into the surface of the lake.

Driven by curiosity, he cautiously climbed up, poked his head out, and glanced toward the water.

He saw that four helicopters had plunged into the lake. At that moment, gigantic black tentacles wrapped around the helicopters, swiftly dragging them beneath the surface.

With the crisis resolved, Sister Dan and her companions climbed back up to Immortal’s Peak. Shen Xin followed, his curiosity unabated. “What happened? Why did the helicopters fall?”

Sister Dan sneered, “I told you—they’re a bunch of fools. If a helicopter could simply lift the island in the lake, it would have been taken long ago. A single Holy Spirit Fruit is worth a billion, and the tree itself is priceless. It wouldn’t have lasted this long.”

Shen Xin thought it over and realized she was right. He looked toward the lakeshore; the scene was utterly tragic. At least fifty people had been killed or wounded.

If ordinary people endured several minutes of Gatling gunfire, they’d be reduced to nothing.

Most of the survivors, shaken, began descending the mountain, leaving only a few behind to clear the battlefield.

Shen Xin felt sick, unable to bring himself to scavenge. Besides, people didn’t carry much cash, and there was nothing worth taking. As for weapons, he didn’t really need them.

Even a tree branch, wielded with his ocular technique, could become a lethal weapon. Imagine a twig suddenly piercing someone’s eye—they'd hardly survive.

“Let’s go down. We'll see if there’s another chance tomorrow.”

Sister Dan wasn’t in a hurry. The Holy Spirit Fruit had yet to ripen, and the barrier wouldn’t open. She was more concerned about the true experts who hadn’t arrived yet. In a few days, things would become truly exciting, intense, and dangerous.

After descending, many teams packed up their tents and left without looking back. In two days, sixty or seventy supernaturals had died, completely crushing any lingering hopes.

Actually, making money as a supernaturals wasn’t difficult; risking their lives like this was unnecessary.

Most people left.

About a hundred supernaturals remained, wandering and forming alliances.

A few days ago, everyone scoffed at the idea of alliances. Now, circumstances had changed—without teaming up, not only would they fail to earn big, their very lives would be at risk.

Shen Xin asked uneasily, “Sister Dan, should we look for a team to ally with?”

Sister Dan snorted, “A bunch of chickens and dogs, what’s the point of allying with them?”

Shen Xin couldn’t help but complain, “You’re lofty, but we’re not. I’m just the chicken and dog you look down on. Don’t drag me in as cannon fodder.”

Someone approached, wanting to form an alliance. The newcomers were even more arrogant, looking down their noses at everyone.

---

After observing for a while, Old Mo asked, “Captain, are those people from Holy City?”

“Yes. The Holy Spirit Fruit is enough to make them act.”

Old Mo’s pupils contracted, worry etched on his face. “How strong are they?”

“About as strong as me.”

“Hiss—” Old Mo and Chen Jiawang drew in sharp breaths. To them, Sister Dan was invincible. Now, a dozen top experts had arrived, and they no longer had any advantage.

Shen Xin had been listening intently. He spoke bluntly, “Sister Dan, I’m straightforward—I can’t keep things bottled up. Given the current situation, what are our odds of getting the Holy Spirit Fruit?”

Sister Dan pondered for a moment before replying, “Without you, thirty percent. With you, over fifty percent. Shen Xin, we have a loophole we can exploit.”

“Me? Is that possible?” Shen Xin pointed at his nose, incredulous. He didn’t believe it himself.

“Yes!” Sister Dan lowered her voice. “Your teleportation ability is powerful. When the time comes, grab as many fruits as you can.”

“Sister Dan, the distance is too great. My ability has its limits.”

Sister Dan was resolute. “I believe you can do it! Believe in yourself—don’t let your own perceptions bind you. The world’s rules aren’t so rigid.”

“What do you mean?” Shen Xin was bewildered.

“You’ll understand when the time comes!”

They waited for two days. On the second day, Immortal’s Peak was bathed in golden light, dawn painting the sky.

“The time has come. Let’s head to Immortal’s Peak. Success or failure will be decided in one move!”

Sister Dan led the way, the other four following close behind. People at the foot of the mountain saw the strange phenomenon lighting up the sky and hurried up to investigate.

Upon reaching Immortal’s Peak, the Holy Spirit Fruit tree on the island radiated dazzling brilliance, piercing the clouds.

A few supernaturals who could fly couldn’t resist flying toward the island. As soon as they landed nearby, countless tentacles snatched them into the lake. Moments later, the water turned crimson—clearly, the monster in the lake was attacking with full force.

Yet even this couldn’t stop human greed.

Over a hundred supernaturals by the lake sprang into action. Some walked on water, others spat ice crystals to freeze the surface, some launched massive rafts, advancing at full speed.

Sister Dan ordered, “Jiawang, throw Shen Xin over!”

---

“What? Will that work?”

“Do it!”

Chen Jiawang gritted his teeth, grabbed Shen Xin’s thigh, and said, “Sorry, Brother Shen.”

With that, he hurled Shen Xin through the air.

“Hey, you have no sense of honor!”

Sister Dan shouted, “Stop yelling nonsense—focus and grab the fruit!”

Shen Xin had no choice. His body shot toward the island at high speed. He quickly calculated the distance to the Holy Spirit Fruit tree. When he was close enough, he immediately activated his ocular technique and teleported four fruits from the tree into his hand. Then, glancing toward Sister Dan, he teleported back to her side.

“How many did you get?”

“Two!”

“Excellent! You all retreat first, I’ll cover you!”

Unexpectedly, Sister Dan kicked Shen Xin off the cliff.

“Damn it, Sister Dan, curse your mother!”

Shen Xin yelled as he plummeted over a hundred meters, still four hundred meters from the ground.

Even using his ocular technique wasn’t much help—he couldn’t see the cliff behind him, no reference points, so there was no way to activate it.

He fell straight down. If there was any mistake with his technique, he’d be smashed into pulp.

Shen Xin wouldn’t dare gamble. He didn’t even have time to draw his flying knife, so he kept using his ocular technique on the ground below.

Fortunately, after repeated attempts, he finally succeeded, landing safely.

He didn’t waste a moment—swallowed a Holy Spirit Fruit whole, chewing and gulping it down.

He now had three fruits in hand, hiding one away and planning to hand over only two.

The rest of the team descended after a minute or so.

Shen Xin, feeling guilty, handed two fruits to Sister Dan.

She beamed, quickly stashing them close to her body, then leaped onto the White Tiger. “I’ll ride ahead. You all hurry and retreat! Go, go, go—quickly!”
