Chapter One: An Unconventional Divine Wealth System

The False Tycoon.
He acquires a system that lets him spend without restraint, always opting for the most expensive things rather than the most suitable ones. Before getting the system, he’d never even touched a car steering wheel, so naturally, he heads to the Porsche dealership to buy a Panamera. Inevitably, he encounters a beautiful saleswoman who looks down on him, as well as former classmates from vocational or technical colleges. With a wave of his hand, he doesn’t bother with any customization—just takes the showroom car right away. He couldn’t care less how many times that model has been driven or how many people have sat in it before. No matter that, under normal circumstances, a super-custom luxury car would require a wait of at least half a year, maybe even a full year—he can always drive off instantly. Don’t ask why; just chalk it up to the system’s innate features.
With the system in hand and a luxury car at his disposal, his first order of business is to put to shame those beautiful classmates who were picked up in BMW 3 or 5 Series. When the sun sets and you’re not by my side, who are you to come back when the dawn rises again! (Cue the dramatic music and MC’s rap.)
In the morning, he’s still slaving away at an electronics factory; by the afternoon, he’s showing up at a lavish hotpot restaurant where the average meal costs tens of thousands. He treats everyone to a feast, and if the bill is under a hundred thousand, it’s as if the tycoon system was wasted. LV, Hermès, Chanel—he always buys complete sets, dropping hundreds of thousands in an instant on luxury fashion. He’s utterly indifferent to the gaudy logos or styles that clash terribly with his own image. If he ever chooses a subtler logo, he can at least claim to have known hardship in his tycoon journey.
He always buys Patek Philippe directly, never sparing a glance at the supposedly tacky Rolex. Don’t ask how he manages to buy collectible or limited-edition Patek Philippes outright—the answer is always the system’s function.
He can always encounter a delicate, pitiful beauty at a bar. Dead father, ill mother, brother still in school—these are the usual tropes. Frugality and diligence are just the basics. Her first kiss untouched, her first love a mere accident at the bar. Strangely enough, it even rhymes.
A night out at the club, surrounded by three or five beautiful women—if he spends less than two hundred thousand, the system might as well not exist. He’ll always end up taking a drunken beauty home; she’ll inevitably weep, the bedsheets stained with crimson, and by morning she’ll be gifted a black card with a million-dollar limit. With a grand gesture, he assures her, “Don’t worry, you’re mine from now on!”
It’s all so excessive, so over the top.
But as for a true tycoon...

Li Yan snapped shut the tycoon novel in his hand, feeling as if the author had just force-fed him a pile of rubbish.
Li Yan thought: at the very least, it’s not like that...
...
He had read many tycoon novels, and always found them rather ridiculous—no, not just somewhat, but entirely absurd. Was he envious? Of course...
But now, Li Yan was himself one of the lucky recipients of a tycoon system. The only problem was, during his three years of high school, the tycoon system he received was of no real use.
To call it a tycoon system was inaccurate—if it weren’t for the name written plainly, Li Yan would never have admitted it. What kind of tycoon system gives you tasks like “get into a top university before unlocking full functionality”?
Throughout his three years of high school, Li Yan received many tasks, such as:
[Recite the entire “Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng” and deeply understand it. Completion reward: 1,000 yuan.]
[Understand and apply trigonometric identities (including reduction formulas, sum-to-product formulas, etc.). Completion reward: 1,000 yuan.]
[Comprehend basic elementary functions (exponential, logarithmic, power, and trigonometric functions), their graphs, and properties. Completion reward: 1,000 yuan.]
When Li Yan first received these tasks, he wanted to ask—wasn’t this a top student system instead???
And the reward was always a fixed 1,000 yuan!
But the system’s answer left Li Yan speechless:
[There are many sources of wealth: perhaps luck, perhaps effort, perhaps a system. But the meaning and inheritance of wealth are never just about luxury goods or cars or mansions. I hope the host can truly understand wealth, learn wealth, master wealth!]
In summary: I am not like those flashy, shallow tycoon systems out there!
Li Yan didn’t even have time to complain. Though it wasn’t the tycoon system he’d imagined, a reward of 1,000 yuan was enough to let him indulge for quite a while!
Living in the dorms during high school, his weekly allowance was just 300 yuan—so an extra 1,000 was more than enough for him to live it up.
Never underestimate the power of 1,000 yuan to a high school student.
Li Yan was hooked by that 1,000 yuan, like a fish to a lure.
And his grades? Naturally, they soared, until both his teachers and his parents thought he was incredibly hardworking.
From a student expected to attend a third-tier university at the start of high school, he jumped to the top ten of his year by the second semester of sophomore year, and then, in his final year, secured a place at Sichuan University, one of the nation’s elite 985 institutions!
It was the ultimate comeback story—the kind teachers would cite as inspiration for the next graduating class.
As for the hardship endured and the perseverance required—only Li Yan knew the truth.

Today was Li Yan’s first day of driving lessons, specifically the second module.
With the summer after the college entrance exam underway, getting a driver's license was naturally the first order of business! Especially for someone like Li Yan, who’d been looking forward to his tycoon system for so long.
A university life without a sports car—could that even be called a tycoon’s college experience?
Certainly not.
But you need a license to drive, so Li Yan had signed up early for lessons at a driving school near his home.
He’d already passed the written exam in one go, without any difficulty.
He got up early that morning, eager to practice driving, but even more excited for the true tycoon version of his system, which was to be unlocked after the upgrade completed.
Yesterday evening, the progress bar in his mind had still been at 86%, but this morning it had climbed to 92%. By noon, Li Yan was confident the upgrade would be complete.
I want a tycoon system! Not a top student system!
Li Yan crawled shirtless from bed—the weather was just too hot, especially during the summer break. The air conditioner had been running all night, never daring to shut off. As for whether the AC was tired, just ask the fridge.
Fridge: “You’re so pretentious!”
He walked out of his room into a quiet living room, with only the rays of morning sunlight slanting through the balcony, casting visible motes of dust on the wooden floor.
On the table, a large stainless steel bowl covered several smaller bowls—his mother had prepared breakfast for him.
His parents had already left for work.
Li Yan came from a comfortably well-off family—not wealthy, but certainly happy.
When the system first arrived, he hadn’t looked at it closely and thought he was about to reach the pinnacle of life, only to discover it was a top student system.
Well, if it had to be a top student system, couldn’t it at least boost his intelligence or stats?
Did he not know whether he was cut out for Tsinghua or Peking University?
His parents’ grades back in school weren’t much to write home about, so having a Sichuan University student in the family was already reason enough to celebrate.
As for university life—would it be good?
Li Yan was filled with anticipation!
